중학생의 진로성숙도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 종단적 연구: 부산교육종단연구(BELS)를 중심으로

The Longitudinal Study of Factors Affecting the Career Maturity of Middle School Students: Focus on Busan Education Longitudinal Study(BELS)

본 연구에서는 부산교육정책연구소의 부산교육종단연구(BELS: Busan Education Longitudinal Study) 자료를 활용하여 부산광역시 중학생의 진로성숙도 변화 양상과 변화에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고자 하였다. 부산교육종단연구(BELS) 중학생 1차 자료(1학년)에서 3차 자료(3학년)에 포함된 총 2,869명(남학생 1,545명(53.9%), 여학생 1,324명(46.1%))을 최종분석에 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 부산광역시 중학생의 진로성숙도 변화 양상은 시간의 경과에 따라 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 개인 간의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로성숙도 초기값에 영향을 미치는 변인은 가정배경 변인 중 부모-자녀 관계, 학생 개인변인인 자아존중감과 학업적 자기효능감이며, 교사배경 중 학습자 중심 수업이고, 학교배경 중 학교행복감과 자유학기제만족도로 나타났으며 모두 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 진로성숙도 변화율에 영향을 미치는 변인은 가정배경 변인 중 부모의 SES, 학생 개인변인 중 학업적 자기효능감, 학교변인 중 학교행복감으로 나타났다. 부모의 SES는 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나 학업적 자기효능감, 학교행복감은 부적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 논의점을 제시하였으며, 본 연구의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언을 하였다.

In this study, we tried to analyze the factors that may affect the career maturity of middle school students in Busan Metropolitan City using the data of Busan Education Longitudinal Study (BELS). The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year data of the BELS were utilized and a total of 2,869 individuals (1,545 males (53.9%) and 1,324 females (46.1%)) were included in the final analysis. As a result of the analysis, firstly, it was clarified that the degree of maturity change of middle school students in Pusan ​​Metropolitan City decreased with time, and there was a difference among individuals. Second, the factors that influence the initial value of career maturity are parent-child relationship (family factors), self-esteem and academic self-efficacy (student factors), learner-centered class (teacher factors), and school happiness and free-semester satisfaction (school factors) Thirdly, the factors affecting the rate of change in career maturity were parents’ SES, academic self-efficacy, and school happiness. Parents’ SES was found to have a significantly positive effect. However, it was found that academic self-efficacy and school happiness have a significantly negative effect. Based on these results, implications were presented as well as the recommendations for future research and the limitation of this research.
