Women and Their Ministry of Nurturing the New Members

복음을 받아들인 새신자들을 영적으로 계속 성장하게 하여 교회에 잘 정착하게 하는 것은 현대 교회의 도전이다. 이 글의 목적은 여성 인력을 활용하여 새신자들을 잘 양육하고 정착하게 함으로 복음 사역과 교회 성장을 돕는 실제적인 방법을 찾는 것이다. 교회 다수를 차지하는 여성들을 평신도 사역자로 훈련하고 교육하여 새신자들이 교회에 친근감을 가지고 안정적으로 적응하게 하는 역할을 할 수 있다. 초기교회에서도 여성들은 복음전하는 일과 새신자들을 돌보는 사역에 복음전도자로서 또한 교회 지도자로서 적극적으로 참여하였다. 효율적인 새신자 정착을 위해 새신자 양육의 원리를 알아야 하며 훈련받은 평신도 여성들을 통한 일대일 양육과 소그룹 양육은 성공적으로 새신자들의 교회 정착을 도와줄 수 있다.

This study aims to find practical ways for women’s ministry to assist and nurture new believers in order for them to settle and integrate into the body of believers. Training and educating women to become lay ministers, who make up the majority of the church membership, to assist new believers in such ways that they can find a sense of familiarity and comfortably adjust to the church. In the early church, women were actively involved as church leaders in advancing and spreading the gospel and nurturing the new believers. In order to assist new believers to successfully settling into the church, lay women need to understand the nurturing principles and be trained how to implement them to new believers through one-on-one associations and small group meetings.
