폴리드론을 활용한 전개도 학습 활동 사례 연구

A Case Study of Development Figure Learning Activity Using Polydron

본 연구는 초등학교 6학년 학생들이 폴리드론이라는 손 조작 수학 교구를 활용하여 각기둥의 전개도를 탐구하며 점, 선, 면의 관계를 이해하고 그 속에서 규칙을 탐구하는 과정을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 4차시에 걸친 수업 분석을 통해 다음의 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 손 조작 수학 교구는 전개도를 탐구하는 과정에서 입체도형의 전개도를 종이 위에 그려보는 활동에 비해 전개도를 탐구하는 과정에서 전개도를 다양하게 분류하고 유형화하는 데 도움이 된다. 둘째, 입체도형의 전개도에 서로 마주 보는 면끼리 같은 색으로 표현하거나 만나는 점과 모서리, 서로 마주 보는 면에 같은 기호를 사용함으로써 점, 선, 면의 관계를 찾고 일반화할 수 있다. 셋째, 입체도형의 전개도 탐구시 적절한 기호화는 학생들에게 귀납, 유추, 연역 등의 수학적 추론 교육에 도움이 된다. 넷째, 폴리드론을 이용하여 정육면체의 전개도를 탐구하는 과정을 유추하고 기호화하는 데 익숙해지면 사각기둥의 전개도를 그릴 때 다양한 형태의 전개도를 그릴 수 있게 된다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the process of exploring the development of prisms, understanding the relationship between points, lines, and faces, and exploring rules in the sixth grade by using hand-manipulated mathematics teaching tools called polydron. Through the analysis of classes over the fourth period, the following conclusions were obtained. First, the dynamics of the hand-manipulated mathematics teaching tools in classifying and classifying a variety of developments in the process of exploring the commonalities and differences of the developments, compared to the activity of simply drawing the development of a development figure on paper. Second, the relationship between points, lines, and faces can be found and generalized by using the same symbols on the faces facing each other, or on the faces facing each other, or by expressing the same color between faces facing each other in the development diagram of a development figure. Third, proper symbolization helps students in mathematical reasoning education such as induction, analogy, and deduction when exploring the development of development figures. Fourth, using the polydrone to infer the process of exploring the development of the cube and to become familiar with the symbolization, it is possible to draw various types of development when drawing the development of the square pillar.
