발달장애아동 부모교육에 대한 부모와 전문가의 경험과 요구 탐색

A Qualitative Inquiry on the Experiences and Needs of Parents and Experts on Parent Education for Children with Developmental Disabilities

본 연구의 목적은 발달장애아동 부모교육에 대한 부모와 전문가의 경험과 요구를 탐색하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 부모교육 참여 경험이 있는 발달장애자녀 부모 5명과 부모교육 제공 경험이 있는 전문가 4명을 포함하여 총9명을 대상으로 초점집단면담(Focus Group Interview)을 실시하였다. 모든 면담 내용은 전사한 후 지속적 비교법을 통하여 질적 자료 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 3개의 대주제와 8개의 소주제가 도출되었다. 첫째, 발달장애아동 부모가 직면하는 어려움 대주제에서 도출된 소주제는 부모 및 가족의 심리적 스트레스, 자녀 양육기술 및 정보의 부족, 제한적인 부모지원 서비스 및 지역적 편차로 나타났다. 둘째, 발달장애아동 부모교육을 위한 실천적 요구 대주제에서 도출된 소주제는 장애에 대한 인식전환 및 객관화. 장애아동 각 가정에 개별화된 맞춤형 교육, 가정과 연계된 실습중심의 부모교육으로 나타났다. 셋째, 장애 부모교육을 위한 제도적 지원이라는 대주제에서 도출된 소주제는 조기중재의 팀 접근을 통한 부모지원, 체계적인 연계된 복지서비스의 필요로 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 발달장애아동 부모교육에 관한 운영 방향에 대하여 시사점을 논의하였으며, 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구에 대한 제언을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences and needs of parents and experts on parent education for children with developmental disabilities. Focus group interviews were conducted for two groups:(a) 5 parents of children with developmental disabilities with experience in parent education, (b) 4 experts with experience in providing parent education. After transcribing all interviews, constant comparative method was used. Based on the qualitative analysis, 3 major theme and 8 sub-themes were derived. First, the sub-themes derived from the major themes of difficulties faced by the parents of children with developmental disabilities appeared to be a) psychological stress of parents and families, b) lack of child caring skills and information, c) limited parent support services, and regional variations. Second, the sub-topic derived from the large topic of practical demands for parent education is needs of a) change of perception and objectification of disability, b) individualized parent education for each family of children with disabilities and c) practices related to each home base. Third, the sub-theme system derived from the main theme of institutional supports for education for parents with disabilities appeared to be a) parent education and involvement in early intervention and b) systematic collaboration among welfare services. The implications for the direction of parent education for children with developmental disabilities were discussed, and limitations and suggestions for future research were presented.
