동화중심 유아흡연위해예방교육 프로그램의 적용 효과

The effects of smoking-risk preventive education for young children

본 연구는 만 3, 4, 5세 유아를 대상으로 동화를 중심으로 놀이성에 바탕을 둔 활동을 전개해 나가도록고안된 유아 흡연위해예방교육 프로그램을 실행하고, 유아의 흡연위해예방에 관한 지식, 기술, 태도의 변화에미치는 효과성을 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 동화중심 유아흡연위해예방교육 프로그램을 실시한실험집단 유아 110명과 이를 실시하지 않은 비교집단 유아 80명에 대한 유아흡연위해예방능력 평가척도사전⋅사후검사 점수를 비교하여 분석하는 이질통제집단 전후검사설계방법을 적용하였다. 분석결과, 유아흡연위해예방교육 내용요소를 바탕으로 제작된 5편의 동화 및 이와 연계된 다양한 활동을 경험한 실험집단유아들의 사후총점이 기존의 유아흡연위해 관련영상 및 자유놀이자료만 제시된 비교집단 유아들의 사후총점에 비해 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 ‘동화중심 유아흡연위해예방교육 프로그램’의 효과성을검증하였음을 의미한다. 이를 통해 앞으로 유아가 건강한 삶을 영위할 수 있도록, 흡연 및 흡연자에 대한올바른 인식을 가지고 미래의 흡연 진입을 예방함과 동시에 직⋅간접 흡연위해예방 기술을 익히는 데 도움이되기 위해서는, 본 연구에서 적용한 동화중심 유아흡연위해예방교육이 더욱 확산되고 지속적으로 적용될수 있도록 현장 교사를 대상으로 하는 교사교육의 실행 및 다양한 놀이자료의 개발이 요청된다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of a smoking-risk preventative program using fairy tale stories for young children aged 3 to 5 and explore changes in their knowledge, skills, and attitudes of smoking. 110 young children of an experiemntal group participated in the designed preventive program and 80 other children participated in a general smoking-risk program as a control group. The program was designed for young children to experience various activities related to 5 fairy tale stories about smoking harms. The study applied a pre- and post-examination test for the heterogeneity control group, which compares and analyzes pre- and post-test scores on the smoking-risk preventative ability assessment scale. The results of the study showed that the post-total scores of the experimental group that experienced the smoking-risk preventative program were significantly higher than those of the control group, which presented the effectiveness of the program. It was discussed that teachers need to utilize a variety of play materials including fairy tale stories and develop their practices to help young children live their healthy lives and have a right awareness of smoking.
