Protecting Personal and Business Data During a Pandemic - Lessons from Research on Online Victimization

전 세계는 코로나 바이러스 19(COVID-19) 대유행 이후 전례 없는 위기 상황을 겪고 있다. 팬데믹으로 야기된 주목할 만한 변화 중에는 사회적 거리두기 조치와 가정에 머무르기 지침이 있는데, 이것은 비필수적 사업체의 일시적 폐쇄와 원격 근무라는 결과를 가져왔다. 더불어 세계 각지에서 팬데믹을 테마로 한 피싱과 사기 사건이 증가하고 있다. 현재와 같은 재택근무 추세가 계속될 것으로 예상되는 상황에서, 사이버 공간상 동기 부여된 범죄자들의 위협을 완화하는 것이 중요하다. 이 연구는 선행연구를 바탕으로 팬데믹 발생 시 온라인 피해 방지 및 사업데이터 보호 전략에 대해 논의한다.

The world has been undergoing an unprecedented time of crisis since the outbreak of the Corona Virus 19 (COVID-19) pandemic. Among the notable changes brought by the pandemic are social distancing measures and stay-at-home directives, which have led to temporary closure of non-essential businesses as well as people working remotely in their homes. Moreover, increased numbers of the pandemic-themed phishing and fraud cases have been reported in different parts of the world. With the current work-at-home trend expected to continue, it is important to mitigate the threats posed by motivated offenders in cyberspace. Based on existing research evidence, this paper discusses strategies to prevent online victimization and protect business data during a pandemic.
