The Meaning of God for Nietzsche

니체는 신이 더 이상 인간세계에 가치기준으로서 역할을 하지 못하게 된 이유를 사람들이 신을 인간의 삶이나 대지바깥에 존재하는 것으로 취급한다는 점에서 찾았다. 이때 신은 인간에게 가치를 강요하는 위치에 있게 되며 인간을 노예화한다. 니체는 신을 인간의 삶과 대지로 내려오게 함으로써 이 문제를 해결하고자 하였다. 그러나 신의 내재성에 대한 강조는 초월성만을 강조할 경우의 폐단은 극복할 수 있을지 모르나, 내재해 있는 것이 어떻게 기준역할을 할 수 있는가하는 또 다른 문제를 야기한다. 칸트의 ‘아프리오리’(a priori)에 대한 중층적인 해석은 니체가 신의 초월성은 부정하고 내재성만을 인정하는 것이 가지는 난점을 이론적으로 해결해준다. 니체가 신을 부정하면서도 그의 생을 통해 꾸준히 기존의 모든 가치를 비판함으로써 드러내려고 한 것은 기존의 가치에 대한 토대를 들추어내어 탐색하는 것이었다. 니체에게 신은 기존의 가치에 논리적 가정으로 붙박여 있는 것으로 유추해 볼 가능성이 있다. 이 점에서 보면, 니체가 한 일, 즉 기존 가치를 재평가하는 일은 인간의 가치를 상승시키는 일이 된다. 니체는 기존의 신에 대한 부정(비판)을 통해 신에 대한 긍정을 보여주었다고 할 수 있다.

The inner conflict of Nietzsche was that he could not deny the being of God even though he was saying that ‘God is dead’. He pointed out the weakness of transcendency of God when it is separated from man himself. The other hand, if he deny the being of God, he knows that it can cause very dangerous situation because people have to accept that there is no criterion of all value in the world. Nietzsche suggests ‘revaluation’ as an alternative role to God. The premise of revaluation is not the premise of assurance because it starts from doubts to value which is already admitted by people. The revaluation means diagnosis itself because it valuates the basement of values. The human values can be elevated when he or she valuates the valuation which is already admitted by the people. It is not different from critiques of Kant who presented critiques as his philosophical works. A priori which is being as an Absolute logical presupposition by Kant can help to solve the problem which is theocratical difficulties that the nature of God for Nietzsche that has transcendency and immanence paradoxically. Nietzsche shows us the positivity of God when he critiques or denying Christian God while he is saying that inquiring the logical premise of God as a name of ‘revaluation’.
