프뢰벨의 교육이론에 등장하는 神的一者는 보다 일반적인 용어로 實在로 해석될 수 있으며 프뢰벨은 이 실재의 개념에 입각하여 교과의 가치를 설명한다. 이 점에서 프뢰벨의 교육이론은 현대의 교육학자들과는 다른 시각에서 교과의 가치를 논의한다. 본 논문에서는 프뢰벨의 교육이론을 실재의 개념에 입각하여 파악한 맥바넬의 유기적 관점을 먼저 검토한 후에 그것과는 대비되는 중층적 관점을 제시한다. 중층적 관점은, 신적 일자와 만물의 관련에만 치중한 맥바넬의 유기적 관점과는 달리, 신적 일자와 만물의 관련은 물론 그 양자 사이의 차이도 동시에 설명해준다. 중층적 관점에 의하면, 신적 일자는 만물과 떨어져서 존재할 수도 없지만 그렇다고 하여 만물과 동일한 방식으로 존재할 수도 없다. 중층적 관점에 입각해서 보면, 신적 일자라는 형이상학적 실재는 모든 사물의 진위와 가치를 비추어 보는 만물의 궁극적 표준이다. 교과를 이와 같은 신적 일자의 표현이라고 하지 않으면 교육이 무슨 일을 하는지 모르게 되며 더 나아가 교과의 의미를 획득하는 일이 불가능하게 된다. 교과를 신적 일자의 표현으로 보는 것은 신적 일자를 고정된 시점에서 파악한 것이며 교과를 가르치고 배우는 과정 속에서 신적 일자의 의미를 획득하는 것은 신적 일자를 역동적 시점에서 파악한 것이다. 만물의 궁극적 표준으로서의 신적 일자는 시간 계열을 따라 일어나는 교육의 과정 속에서 설명될 때 비로소 그 온전한 의미가 드러난다. 이 점에서 신적 일자의 의미를 역동적 시점에서 파악하는 것은 다름 아닌 신적 일자를 교육의 관점에서 파악하는 것이다. 프뢰벨의 교육이론이 교과의 정당화 문제와 관련하여 주목의 대상이 되어야 하는 이유는 그의 이론 전체가 교과를 왜 가르치는가 라는 질문을 역동적 시점에서, 즉 철두철미 교육의 관점에서 대답하고 있기 때문이다. 프뢰벨의 교육이론은 신적 일자와 교과의 관계에 관한 중층적 관점을 역동적 시점에서 보여주고 있으며 그것은 교과를 어째서 형이상학적 관점에서 정당화해야 하는가를 보여준다.
The purpose of this study is to interpret Froebel s educational theory from the viewpoint of justification theory. Generally speaking, justification theory is the theory of explaning the value of subject-matters. Froebel s educational theory is explaining the value of subject-matters on the ground of the Divine Unity. The Divine Unity in Froebel s educational theory is not different from Reality as the term of metaphysics. Thus Froebel justifies the value of subject-matters on the standpoint of Reality. On account of this, Froebel s theory is not the same way that justification theorists in our time explain the value of subject-matters. In Froebel s educational theory, the Divine Unity is the core concept referring to educational content. The whole educational theory of Froebel is bult upon the concept of the Divine Unity, in the sense that all the other constituent concept are derived from it. In Froebel s theory, the Divine Unity is a unmanifested, perfect standard of all things. This examplifies of the idea of the twofold structure of world, consisting of the unmanifested standard on the upper side, the Divine Unity, and the empirical manifestations on the lower side, all things. In accordance to Froebel s, education is a ceaseless efforts that it is able for individual to proceed from the lower side of the empirical manifestations to upper side of the ideal, perfect standard. Froebel s educational theory is bult on the idea of the twofold structure of world, and this point illustrates the reason that we should justify the value of subject-matters in dependance on Reality
