교육적 방법론 기반의 기획 전시를 통한미술관교육의 새로운 방향 모색

A Study on a New Direction of Art Museum Education Through Special Exhibition based on Educational Methodology : Focused on Ante,Nna Project of ‘Stage for Learning’ in Arko Art Center

국내 미술관교육 연구가 이루어진 지 약 40년 정도가 흘러서 이제는 지금까지의 미술관교육을 되돌아보고 새로운 방향들에 대해 논할 때가 되었다. 본 연구에서는 기존과는 다른 관점으로 미술관에서의 교육을 실천한 프로젝트로서 ‘교육적 방법론 기반의 기획 전시’를 분석하고, 이를 토대로 미술관교육의 방향성에 대해 논하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 아르코미술관이 기획한 ‘배움의 무대’ 전시와 더불어 개발된 학교 연계 프로그램인 <안테,나 프로젝트>를 살펴보고, 이것이 미술관교육에 시사하는 바를 논하였다. ‘교육의 큐레토리얼화’의 현장에서 본 연구자가 기획 및 진행한 이 프로젝트는 ‘배움의 무대’ 전시와 연계한 중요 교육 프로그램이자 작품으로 기능하며 ‘배움’에 대한 다양한 논의를 한 곳에 수렴시키는 역할을 한다. 프로그램의 내용과 방법의 분석을 통해 미술관교육의 새로운 방향들에 대한 논점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전시와 교육의 경계를 허무는 교육적 방법론 기반의 전시 프로젝트를 위한 미술교육학적 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 미술교육 연구자, 전시 기획자, 미술관교육 담당자, 학교 교사 등 관련 분야의 다양한 전문가들 간 소통과 협업이 더욱 활발하게 이루어져야 한다. 셋째, 지금까지와는 다른 형태의 미술관교육 프로젝트가 구성되어야 한다. 본 연구는 미술관교육을 새롭게 바라보는 사례로서, 전시 기획자, 미술관교육 담당자, 미술교육 연구자 등 다양한 분야의 전문가들의 협업을 촉발시키는 계기가 될 것이며, 앞으로 교육적 방법론을 표방하는 전시의 근간이 되는 미술교육학 연구의 시작으로서 의의를 지닌다.

It has been around forty years since the museum education research has been conducted in Korea. It is time to look back on museum education and discuss new directions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the project that conducted the education in museum through the viewpoint of the special exhibition based on educational methodology and to discuss the direction of museum education based on the analysis contents. For this purpose, this research examined the existing viewpoints and new approaches of museum education, and examined the relationship between schools and museums. Next, this research discussed the implications from <Ante,Nna Project> that is education program of ‘The stage of Learning’ in the Arko Art Center. <Ante,Nna Project> which was directly conducted by the researcher as ‘Curatorial’. This project functions as an educational program and work and converges discussion about learning in museum at the center of ‘The stage of Learning’. The followings are the implications of <Ante,Nna Project> on the art education. First, art education research should be conduct for exhibition based on educational methodology that breaks the boundaries between exhibition and education. Second, experts such as art education researchers, curator, art museum educator, and teachers should be communicate and collaborate more actively. Third, various types of educational projects should be constructed. This study will be an opportunity to stimulate collaboration among experts in various fields such as exhibition planners, educators, and art education researchers as a new example of museum education, and will be the beginning of art education research.
