아동화에 나타난 감정표현 관련 상징적 기호의 유형 분석

Analysis of Symbolic Sign Related to Emotional Expression in Children s Painting : Focusing on Portraits of Elementary School Students

본 연구는 기호학적 관점에서의 아동화 분석 관련 연구를 살펴보고, 아동들이 감정표현을 위해 습관적으로 활용하고 의미작용이 일어나도록 하는 이미지를 분석한다. 특히 기쁨, 슬픔, 분노의 의미를 만들어 내는 이미지를 일반적 유형과 개별적 유형으로 분류하고 각 유형에 나타난 형태의 특징을 분석하여 제시한다. 본 연구에서 초등학생 총 293명의 인물화를 분석한 결과 아동들은 얼굴표정과 신체뿐만 아니라 감정표현을 위한 부가적 기호를 생성하여 활용했다. 아동들은 얼굴 표정과 팔과 다리의 움직임에 따른 자세, 만화적 기호, 감정을 상징하는 물건 또는 상황 등을 부가적으로 활용해서 감정표현을 했다. 감정을 표현한 인물화의 일반적인 유형에서는 도식적인 묘사의 비중이 높게 나타난 반면 개별적 유형의 인물화에서는 자신의 경험이나 느낌을 암시적으로 표현하는 상징적 기호의 다양성이 나타났다.

This study examined the research on the analysis of the children’s drawing from cognitive development, psychological analysis, semiotic perspective, and analyzes images that allow children to habitually use and express emotions. The purpose of this study is to classify images that produce meaning of joy, sadness and anger into general and individual types and analyze the characteristics of the forms shown in each type. As a result of analyzing the portraits of 293 elementary school students, children created additional symbols for expression of emotions as well as facial expressions and bodies. Children expressed emotions by using facial expressions such as smiling faces, crying faces, angry faces, and posture based on the movement of arms and legs, as well as cartoon symbols and objects or situations that symbolize emotions. Most of the general types of portraits expressing emotions have a high proportion of representative depiction, while individual types of portraits have a high proportion of expressing their experiences or feelings implicitly.
