미술교육을 통한 진로교육의 내실화 방안

The Improvement of Career Education in Art Education

본 연구는 국가적 시책으로 추진되고 있는 진로교육에 발맞추어 초등학교 미술교과와 연계한 진로교육의 내실화 방안을 꾀하는 데 중점을 두었다. 이를 위하여 국내외 진로교육의 의미와 방향을 점검하고, 미술교과와 연계하여 이루어지고 있는 진로교육의 사례를 탐색하였다. 또한 진로교육이 본격화된 제5차 교육과정부터 현재까지의 총론과 미술과 교육과정, 2018년 현재 학교 현장에 적용되고 있는 초등학교 미술 교과서(2015 개정 교육과정에 따른 3, 4학년 교과서, 2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 5, 6학년 교과서)에서 진로교육 관련 내용을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석에 기초하여 본 연구에서는 미술교육과 가장 밀접하게 연계시킬 수 있는 교육부와 한국직업능력개발원의 ‘2015 초등학교 진로교육 목표 및 성취기준’에서 제시하고 있는 ‘자아 이해와 사회적 역량 개발’, ‘일과 직업 세계 이해’, ‘진로 탐색’, ‘진로 디자인과 준비’ 영역에 준하여 각 영역별 미술교과 연계 진로교육 프로그램의 사례를 제시하였다. 미술교과의 특성상 ‘자아 이해와 사회적 역량 개발’ 및 ‘일과 직업 세계 이해’ 영역은 미술을 통한 자아 정체성 신장이나 미술가와 미술 관련 직업에 대한 이해 등의 학습을 통해 자연스럽게 진로교육과 연계되어 왔으나, ‘진로 탐색’과 ‘진로 디자인과 준비’는 초등학교 수준에서 거의 다루어지지 않았으므로, 다양한 프로그램 개발을 통해 이의 균형적 접근이 요구된다.

This study focused on the improvement of career education linked with elementary school art curriculum in line with the national policy of career education. The purpose of this study was to investigate the meaning and direction of career education in Korea and abroad, to examine the case of career education in connection with the National Curriculum, National Art Curriculum, and elementary school art textbooks(from the 3rd to 6th grades), and to present cases of career education programs through art education. The suggestions for this study was as follows: It was possible to link the most closely with art education, such as ‘self-understanding and social competence development’, ‘understanding of work and career world’, ‘search for a career path’, ‘career design and preparation’. Through the nature of the arts curriculum, ‘self-understanding and social competence development’, and ‘understanding of work and career world’ have naturally been linked with career education through understanding of artists and art-related people and improving self-identity through art. However, ‘search for a career path’ and ‘career design and preparation’ has been heavily dealt with at middle and high school levels. Therefore, a more diverse programs in art education for career education was required to be developed for a balanced approach in each area.
