비판적 담화 분석법으로 [라디오스타] 한현민 편의 ‘우리’ 분석하기

An Analysis of ‘Our’ in the Hyun-Min Han Show of [Radio-Star] through Critical Discourse Analysis

본 연구의 목적은 비판적 담화 분석법으로 [라디오스타] 한현민 편에 등장한 ‘우리’ 의 의미를 분석해 보는 것이다. 연구를 위하여 텍스트에서 총 일곱 개의 ‘우리’가 들어간 음성언어를 선택하였다. 그리고 이 일곱 인칭대명사가 지시하는 대상(referent)을파악하기 위하여 ‘우리’를 둘러싼 어휘, 조사, 함축, 그리고 담화적 맥락과 사회문화적맥락을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 대상 TV 프로그램에서 ‘우리’의 발화는 한국/한국인, 아프리카계 이민자/아프리카계 한국인을 제외한 한국인, 아프리카계 한국인, 외국인을지시하였다. 이 지시대상들은 한편으로는 아프리카계 한국인인 한현민을 한국인으로포섭함으로써 유대감을 창출하였다. 그러나 다른 한편으로는 한현민과 그의 아버지 그리고 그의 아프리카계 한국인 친구들을 배제함으로써 이들을 타자화하는 결과를 야기하였다. 본 연구는 우리 사회에서 아프리카계 한국인에 대한 연대감이 어떻게 시각미디어를 통해 표현되고 있는지에 대해 관심있거나 혹은 담화에 내포된 숨겨진 의미를읽는 연구 방법론에 대해 관심있는 미술교육 전공 대학원생이나 연구자에게 적합하다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of the term ‘our’ in the TV show [Radio-Star] with the guest Hyun-min Han through critical discourse analysis. For the study, seven cases of the term ‘our’ were selected from speech in the show whose referents were examined by the vocabularies, postpositions, implicature, and discursive and sociocultural context surrounding the term, ‘our.’ As a result, the utterance of “Our” indicates South Korea/ South Koreans, South Koreans except African immigrants and African- Koreans, African-Koreans, and foreigners, which on one hand contributes to include Hyun-min Han, an African-Korean teenager, as South Korean in solidarity, but on the other hand excludes him, his father, and his friends from South Koreans as other. This study is useful for art education researchers or graduate students who are interested in reading about solidarity surrounding African-Koreans in the media in South Korea, or in a way to unpack hidden agendas in discourse.
