‘예술가의 창작과 일상’ 탐구를 통한 미술교육의 인문학적 접근

Liberal Approach of Art Education Implied by Exploration about Creation and Everyday of an Artist

이 연구는 한 예술가의 창작과 일상에 대한 탐구를 통해 인문학으로서의 미술교육에대한 방향과 가치를 탐색하고 있다. 연구 참여자는 대학에서 동양화를 전공하고 A지역에 거주하며 활동 중인 지역의 중견작가이다. 연구자와는 배우자 관계에 있으며 그에 대한 탐구는 질적 연구의 한 방법인 초상화법을 기반으로 한다. 예술가의 창작세계가 주제를 중심으로 정선되어 드러나는 작품전 중심의 세계를 예술창작세계라 보고, 그 외의 시공간에서 엿보이는 예술가의 생활 속 모습들을 일상생활세계로 보면서 두세계를 탐구한다. 그 결과, 예술가의 창작세계는 일상생활세계를 토대로 분출되는 세계였으며, 삶의 조건이나 환경을 반영하되 지속되는 일상의 틈과 사이의 세계에서 낯섦을 포착하고 길을 찾는 저항적 움직임이 특징적이었다. 이에 연구자는 미술이 기능과 형식에 앞서 세상을 바라보는 눈에 대한 훈련이 전제되어야 한다는 점을 주장하고자 하며, 교과교육시간을 넘어 일상생활과 연결·지속될 수 있는 교육 방안의 마련을 위해 미술교육이 일상생활세계에 주목할 것을 제안하고자 한다. 이는 인문학으로 기능할 수 있는 미술교육의 가능성에 대한 발견이자 앞으로의 방향 정립을 위한 제안이기도 하다. 지식의 개념조차 변하고 있는 오늘날, 예술은 우리의 삶과 보다 직접적으로관계한다는 점을 강조하고자 하며, 교육 내 미술교육의 가치와 비중에 대한 재고를 우리 사회에 요청하고자 한다.

This study is exploring where art education as the humanities should be headed through the quest for everyday life and creativity of an artist. The participant in this study [who has marital relations with the researcher] majored in the oriental painting and has been working as an established writer in A. Research on this artist is conducted on the basis of portraiture, one of the qualitative research methods. The two world will be explored separately - one is an artistically re-created world where the artist manifests his creativity through his works of art and the other is a real life where the artist leads an ordinary life spatio-temporally. There will be further debate over implications that can be drawn out of this research. Hereby, even today s society where the meaning of knowledge is continuously changing, there is no doubt that art is overwhelmingly related with our life and it is vital for our society to reconsider whether the value and importance of art education is fully appreciated in the education system.
