거미의 생태를 통해 예술적 형상화에 대한 논의

Discussion for An Artistic Formation through the Mode of Spider’s Life

숲은 다양한 생명체들이 서식하고 숨 쉬고 있는 생활공간이다. 그 중에서 거미는 숲에서, 나무에서, 풀숲에서 쉽게 발견되는 생명체이다. 나무에서, 풀숲에서 쉽게 발견되는 거미의 은유적 표현은 예술가의 상상력과 표현방법, 매체, 개인적인 시각에 의해 그리고 동시대 미술문화에 의해 영향 받으며 각기 다르게 표현되고 해석된다. 미술품감상에 있어 생명체에 대한 지식은 그것을 주제로 한 작품을 좀 더 이해하고 감상·비평하는 데 있어 직접적인 도움을 준다. 예술가는 경험, 관찰을 통해 생태적 특성을 이해하면서 독창적인 작품을 만들며 이러한 것들이 내재적, 외재적 동기로 작용한다. 창의성에 있어 경험의 개방성으로는 공상, 미학, 느낌, 활동, 아이디어, 가치 등이 있다. 이 연구에서는 거미와 거미줄을 주제로 한 미술품을 중심으로 예술가의 경험에 대한 개방성, 은유적 표현, 예술적 형상화, 경험의 매개, 학교 미술수업에서의 활용 방안 등과 관련지어 살펴본다. 예술가는 실제 대상을 관찰하고 지각하고 느끼고 인지하며 경험에 대한 개방성을 토대로 창의적 사고와 재료의 물성을 활용하여 작업한다. 여기에는 동시대의 문화와 환경이 개인의 문화 등과 상호작용하며 영향을 미친다. 예술가들의 작품은 시적인 감흥과 상상적인 공간을 재현하며 제시한다.

Any forest where various living animals live. A forest is their living space. Among them spiders are ease to find in trees and bushes. The knowledge about living things relate to subjects matters in art helps to understand artworks more deeply with artists autobiographic narratives. We hereby discuss three things. First of all, I deal with spider s specific character and a spider s web along with an artist’s openness for own experience on creativity. Second, We talk about artworks of Alexander Calder, Louise Bourgeois, Tomas Saraceno and Chiharu Shiota. Their artworks represent and suggest remarkable poetic interests, and imaginary space. The mobile works of Alexander Calder s <spider> which moves smooth and gentle, Louise Bourgeois s <Maman> represents mother s love which the size is big and fuze and look like move toward somewhere, Tomas Saraceno s three dimensional spider s web installation piece made by cloth knots which represents the relation of universe and our selves, and Chiharu Hiota’s installation piece made by threads which represents the women’s absence and oppression. Third, We talk about ecological inspiration and artistic formation relate to an artist’s creative thinking and openness for own experiences. A spider is easy to find everywhere and an individual artist responds, expresses and interprets them differently upon an artist s personal imagination, methods, mediums, vision, and influencing of various contemporary art culture.
