미술영재 부모교육의 방향 모색을 위한 교사 요구 조사

An Analysis of Teachers’Needs to Explore the Direction of Education for Parents of the Artistically Gifted

본 연구는 미술영재 부모교육의 방향 모색을 위해 미술영재 지도 교사들의 미술영재교육과 미술영재 부모교육에 대한 요구를 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위해 전국 미술영재교육 담당 교사 123명을 대상으로 미술영재교육에 대한 인식, 미술영재 부모교육의 필요성, 목적, 내용, 방법 등에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 또한 설문조사의 한계를 보완하기 위하여 미술영재교육 전문가 10인을 대상으로 미술영재 부모교육에 대한 서면 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 그 결과 교사들의 부모교육에 대한 요구가 높은 편이었으며, 미술영재 부모교육의 목적으로 ‘자녀에 대한 이해’와 ‘영재교육에 대한 이해’를 우선 꼽았다. 부모교육의 내용으로는 ‘창의성 교육’, ‘인성교육’, ‘미술영재의 특성’을 가장 중요하게 생각하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 교사들이 학부모를 영재교육의 협력적 지원자로 인식하고 가정 연계 교육이 필요하다고 생각함을 보여준다. 그러나 담당 교사의 과다한 업무, 예산부족, 체계적 자료의 부족, 비협조적인 부모의 태도 등으로 인해 현장에서 부모교육을 실행하는데 교사들은 많은 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

This study aims to examine teachers’ needs for the parents education of the artistically gifted and explore the goal and content of education for parents of the artistically. This study analyzes 123 teachers’ needs for the significance, goal, subject, and operation of education for parent of the artistically gifted. As a result, teachers acknowledge the important role of parent and require the parent education. The understanding of the uniqueness of art gifted and art gifted education are the most appropriate for the goal of education for parents of the artistically gifted; creative education and character education as the main subjects of parent education. This study shows that most teachers expect parents to paly role in supporting and consulting their children’s difficulty in learning and studying and participating in the character education at home. However, teachers are having difficulties in managing parent education programs because of excessive task, lack of budget, lack of parent education resources, and uncooperative parents.
