핀란드 초등 디자인교육과정 및 교수 학습과정 특성 연구

A study on the characteristics of the curriculum, teaching and learning of primary design education of Finland: Focused on case of N Primary School

본 연구는 전통을 중시하는 환경친화적인 디자인, 삶의 질을 높이는 기능적이고 간결한 디자인, 사회적 약자를 배려한 민주적인 디자인을 통해 세계 디자인계의 새로운지평을 열어가고 있는 북유럽 국가 중 디자인과 학교 교육의 우수성으로 주목받고 있는 핀란드의 사례를 통해 초등 디자인교육과정 및 교수·학습 과정 특성들을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 핀란드 N초등학교를 방문하여 교내 투어, 면담, 수업 참관, 관련 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과 핀란드의 초등 디자인교육과정은 미술과 공예를 중심으로 디자인교육이 이루어지며, 환경과 건축을 연계하여 환경과 인간의 삶의 조화를지향하는 환경친화적인 교육과정, 전통수공예를 중심으로 손작업과 전통에 대한 강조, 환경친화적인 사고와 문제해결과정을 통한 교육과정을 지향하였다. 또한 핀란드 디자인 수업에서는 학생의 삶과 관련하여 주제 중심으로 통합한 융합수업과 디자인 소비자교육이 이루어졌으며, 학생의 감각적 체험과 환경친화적인 문제해결과정, 협력을 통한학생 주도적인 교수·학습의 특성이 나타났다.

This study intended to investigate into the characteristics of the curriculum, teaching and learning of primary design education through a case study of Finland, which is broadening a new horizon in the field of the global design with eco-friendly designs, functional and concise designs, and democratic designs that consider the socially weak people. For this purpose, related data were collected by school tours, interviews, in-class observations at N Primary School of Finland. The results of this study show that the primary design education of Finland is centered on the fine arts and crafts and well associated with environment and construction. In addition, it is oriented towards ecofriendly fine arts education, the hand crafts focused on the classical hand crafts, and crafts education through eco-friendly thinking and problemsolving processes. The design eduction of Finland was conducted through fusion classes where topics related to the life of students were integrated, and design consumers education. It was also found that student-directed teaching and learning characteristics through students’ sensory experiences, eco-friendly problem-solving processes and cooperation.
