미술교육에서 실행연구의 방향과 방법론에 관한 고찰

A Study on Directions and Methodology of Action Research in Art Education

본 연구는 실행연구의 개념과 역사를 살펴보고, 미술교육에서 실행연구의 특징을반성적 실천을 중심으로 교사교육의 인식론적, 교사전문성의 측면에서 고찰하였다. 미술교육에서 실행연구가 이루어온 성과를 기능적, 상호협력적, 그리고 비판적 실행연구로 나누어 분류하여 검토하였다. 나아가 미술교육 연구방법론에 예술적 특성을 도입한예술 기반 연구의 동향을 실행연구의 가능성으로 고찰하였다. 예술 창작 및 비평 과정을연구의 관점으로 접근하는 예술 기반 연구방법론으로 예술기반 교육연구(Arts-BasedEducational Research), 아토그래피(A/r/tography), 예술 실행(art practice)에서의 연구를 중심으로 제안하였다. 미술교육에서 실행연구는 첫째 반성적 사고를 중심으로 미술교사 전문성을 추구하는 공동체적 실행연구, 둘째 미술작품 제작과 교수활동에서 아이디어와 개념의 시각화를 통한 예술적 인식론, 셋째로 미술교사의 자아반영적내러티브 탐구로 예술가, 교사, 연구자로서의 다중적 정체성 추구로서 연구방법론을적용할 수 있을 것이다.

There has been a recent development of action research in art educationdiscourses. The growing interests in action research manifest the increasedsocial demands for teaching art as professionalism. The study investigatesthe concrete ways of the professional development of art teachers in schoolreform movement. Cases of research purposes, the position of teacher asresearchers in the field and methodology are reported focusing on reflectivethinking as the key development and the strategies of action research. Inaddition, research methodology has broaden and diversified the concept ofwho art teachers are and how they become art teachers in qualitativeresearch paradigm. Art education researchers responded to these changingdemands and the search for adequate methods result in the new developmentof new research practice such as arts-based educational research, A/r/tographyas practice based research, and research acts in art practice. The authorsuggests new approaches to adapt arts-based educational research for actionresearch in art education. First, utilizing reflective thinking could help artteachers discover beliefs, knowledge, and ways of implementing theories andtheir teaching practice with collaboration with art educators in universities. Second, visualizing ideas and concepts of art teaching could support artisticinquiry process in methodology of arts-based educational research. Third,self-reflective narrative inquiry of art teachers as action researchers andartists could enhance the perspectives on art education field.
