조선 후기 화론에 담긴 사실주의(寫實主義)의 현상학적 함의와 미술교육에의 적용

Some Phenomenological Implications of the Reality in the Late Chosun Dynasty Paintings and Application to Art Education

본 연구는 조선 후기 사실주의에 담긴 미학적 특성을 당대 화가를 비평한 화론을 통해 탐색하고 조선 후기 사실주의의 미학적 특성과 현상학적 함의를 검토한 것이다. 더불어 이러한 특성과 함의를 미술교육에 적용하기 위한 과제를 살펴보았다. 조선 후기의 사실주의는 이형사신의 사실성, 내면적 사실성, 감정 이입의 사실성의 미학적 특성을 가진다. 이는 사실적 묘사 자체에 목적을 둔 기계적 사실성이 아니라 사태의 형상에 근거하여 신묘한 정신의 경지로 승화되는 상호작용적 경험을 추구한 것으로 화가의내재적 정신과 감각, 감정이입 등이 개입한다. 이러한 특성은 1) 화가와 미적 대상 간의 주객이원화의 극복과 하나됨의 추구, 2) 대상과의 직접적 상호작용에 개입되는 몸의 감각, 미적 지각, 정서, 인지의 유기적 통합, 3) 기운-형사, 유심-유물, 보이지 않는 것-보이는 것 사이 관계의 교호작용에서 드러나는 창조 행위라는 현상학적 함의를내포한다. 조선 후기 사실주의가 지닌 함의를 살린 미술교육을 위해 단순한 표현 기능답습이나 분석 중심의 한국화 교육에서 벗어나 대상과의 직접적인 체험과 관찰에 역점을 두어야 하며 전통 회화 작품의 사실적 형사가 어떻게 정신과 기운을 옮겨오는지 화가의 이야기와 정서를 포함한 감상 교육이 요구된다.

The purpose of this study is to look into some aesthetic characteristics andphenomenological implications of the reality in the late Chosun dynastypaintings. For this purpose, the study examined the painting theories of thatperiod which contain the various critique of the realistic paintings of the lateChosun dynasty painters. Going a step further beyond this, the studysuggested practical ideas apply to art education of this era. The late Chosundynasty painting mainly had been based on reality of aesthetic objects. Thisreality is not simply focus on extrinsic representation but to lead intrinsicspirituality. The aesthetic characteristics of the reality of the late Chosundynasty is analyzed as reality leading energy, intrinsic reality, empathizedreality. These characteristics have connected with phenomenologicalimplications in depth. The implications of the reality of the late Chosundynasty painting are presented the following: 1) oneness between aestheticsubject and aesthetic objects, 2) interaction of painter body senses, aestheticperception, and emotions, 3) creation from interaction on-going energy andreality, invisible thing and visible thing. Accordingly, art education shouldtry to emphasize learner s direct senses from real experience in field andfocus on the relation painter s mind, story, and realistic expression in artappreciation education. These kinds of art education will be effective ingrowing learner s traditional cultural identities.
