학교 미술교육과 연계하는 미술관 교육

Museum Education Related with School Art Education: Focused on French and English Policies and Case Studies

학교 미술교육과 연계한 미술관 교육은 직접적인 미적 경험, 문화 인지, 지역 사회와 문화에 기반을 둔 교육, 문화적 감수성과 창의성 교육, 그리고 문화 민주화의 실현을 가능하게 해준다. 최근의 교육과 문화 정책 변화로 미술관 교육을 실행할 수 있는기반이 조성되고 있지만 학교와 미술관이 서로 분리 운영되고 있어 실효성으로 연결되지 못하는 경향이 있다. 이 논문은 미술관 교육이 학교 교육과 밀접하게 연계되어 교육의 실효성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 검토한다. 이를 위해 우선 우리나라 미술관 교육의 현황 및 논의, 미술관 교육의 의의를 검토한다. 이어서 프랑스와 영국의 미술관 교육 정책과 사례를 살펴본다. 이 사례들에서 미술관 교육의 가장 진화된 형태인 학교의교사와 미술관 교육담당자가 함께 만들어가는 미술관 교육 프로그램의 운영 방식을 살펴, 미술관 교육의 지향점을 제언한다.

Museum Education integrated with school education not only lets students gain aesthetic experience, creativity, and cultural sensibility but also helps them to attain cultural cognition by having education cooperate with local society and culture, and leading to democratization of culture. Recently, there have been changes in education and cultural policies which brought the chance for infrastructure to grow. This doesn’t work efficiently yet because schools and museums still run without any partnership. This research investigates ways to improve efficiency by relating Museum Education and School Education. First it reviews the meaning of Museum Education, the recent status of Korean Museum Education and its related studies. Secondly, this paper reviews policies about Museum Education and its case studies in France and England. Through these case studies, I found that policies are made not by Museum Education alone, but by including the participation of teachers to integrate school education system and I think this is the most evolved way of running the program. Therefore, this research shows how to plan and run the Museum Educational Program and presents and how Museum Education should grow.
