문화예술교육을 접목한 학교 미술 교육 방안

Incorporating Culture & Arts Education into Art Education at School

본 논문은 문화예술교육의 장을 학교 미술 교육 안에서 통합적으로 일구어낼 수 있는 방안을 모색한다. 범사회적으로 문화예술교육에 대한 논리가 사회뿐만 아니라 공교육 현장으로 파급되고 있다. 사회문화예술교육과 학교문화예술교육이라는 이분법적인경계가 명확한가에 대한 의문이 제기된다. 그리고 이들 양자가 추구하고 있는 교육적가치에 대한 비교 이해에 근거한 학교 미술 교육 운영 방안이 논의될 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 문화예술교육과 학교 미술 교육의 접점을 탐색하고 그 접점에서 도출되는 교육적 목표와 가치를 파악한다. 실제 교과서에 제시된 미술 단원을 중심으로 문화예술교육적 접근이 접목될 수 있는 아이디어를 예시적 수준에서 논의하고자 한다. 또한 기존 학교 미술 교육 목표와 실제적 운영 방법에 요구되는 대안적 아이디어와 실천적 현장 적용을 위한 내용을 살펴본다. 문화예술교육 담론을 학교 미술 교육과 결부하기 위한 논의의 토대로서 쟁점과 가치 중심 인문학적 접근의 필요성을 제기한다.

This study discusses how to utilize the implications of culture and arts education for art education at school. Growing interests in culture and arts education in our society pushes our ongoing discourses into its educational applications, even in the art classroom at school. It seems unlikely that a clear border exists between culture and arts education at school and art education at school. The dichotomy needs further investigation in order to search for the overarching concept of art education at school within the context of culture and arts education. To this end, this article explores the connection and similarity between both. This theoretical investigation assumes that the connection guides educational implications for effective approaches to art education at school by highlighting the cultural value of art. Therefore, this paper examines the tangential point of both culture and arts education at society and art education at school. The educational goal and value that comes from the examination drives the practical discussion of how to incorporate culture and arts education into art classes. Our findings elucidate alternative ideas to expand our understanding of the goal of art education at school from a humanistic point of view. Implications are drawn to help us reconstruct art classes in a way that highlights the value of the vernacular attributes of art in the art classroom from this viewpoint.
