예비유아교사의 어릴 적 유아교육기관에서의 바깥놀이 경험에 대한 인식 연구

Research on Perception of Pre-service Early Childhood Teacher s Childhood Outdoor Play Experience at an Early Childhood Education Institution: Focusing on Picture Drawing

연구목적: 본 연구는 예비유아교사가 어릴 적 유아교육기관에서 했던 바깥놀이 경험을 그림그리기 방법으로 살펴보고, 이를 토대로 유아의 바깥놀이 지원 방안 및 교사양성 교육과정에서의 시사점을 모색하고자 하였다. 연구방법: 연구참여자는 K시에 소재하는 3곳의 대학교에 재학 중인 유아교육과 1~3학년 학생 180명이었다. 예비유아교사는 어린 시절 유아교육기관에서의 바깥놀이 경험을 떠올려 그림을 그렸고, 그림에 대한 설명을 기록하였다. 총 153편의 그림자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과: 예비유아교사는 놀이기구의 유무를 벗어나 놀이기구를 타면서 놀거나 놀이기구 없이 놀았고, 몸을 크게 움직일 뿐 아니라 몸을 작게 움직이며 놀았던 경험으로 인식하였다. 또한 계절에 따라 다양한 동식물 및 사람들과 만나서 관계맺었고, 계획된 활동에 적극적으로 참여하거나 스스로 놀이를 찾아 즐겼던 것으로 표현하였다. 논의 및 결론: 유아교육기관에서의 바깥놀이는 유아가 놀이를 선택할 수 있는 자유를 주는 것과 유아의 몸짓을 면밀히 관찰하는 것에 중점을 두어야 함을 시사하였다. 또한 유아가 수많은 동식물 및 사람들과 관계를 형성할 수 있는 기회와 적극적으로 놀 수 있는 충분한 시간을 주는 것이 필요함을 제안하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find a way to support children s outdoor play and implications in the teacher training curriculum by looking at the pictures of outdoor play that pre-service early childhood teacher experienced at an early childhood educational institution as a child. Method: Participants in the study were 180 students in first to third grades enrolled in early childhood education departments at 3 universities located in K city. Pre-service early childhood teachers drew pictures to recall the experience of outdoor play, explained the pictures. A total of 153 picture data were analyzed. Results: Pre-service early childhood teacher recognized the outdoor play as an experience of playing with a play-equipment, without a play-equipment and an experience of not only moving their body large, but also moving their body small. In addition, they expressed the outdoor play as an experience of meeting and making relationships with various animals, plants and people according to the season and an experience of actively participating in planned activities or finding and enjoying play on their own. Conclusion: This study suggested that outdoor play in early childhood education institutions should focus on giving children their freedom to choose play and closely observing their gestures. In addition, it was suggested that outdoor play should give children an opportunity to form relationships with numerous animals, plants, and people and to give them enough time to actively play.
