Music-Color Association Responses Based on Emotion to Three Attributes of Color by People with Visual Impairments

연구목적: 시각장애인을 대상으로 색의 3속성인 색상, 명도, 채도에 따른 정서 기반 음악-색 연합 반응을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 연구 대상은 S시에 거주하는 20세 이상 40세 미만의 성인 시각장애인 20명이며, 음악-색 연합 반응은 기본 정서유형별 총 12곡을 토대로 타당도가 검증된 음원을 사용하여 정서유형, 색상, 명도, 채도 항목을 자기보고식으로 측정하였다. 연구결과: 색상에 따른 정서 기반 음악-색 연합 반응에서 검정은 분노와 두려움, 빨강은 분노, 초록은 행복, 회색은 슬픔 순으로 높게 나타났다. 명도에서는 밝고 어두움의 속성에 따라 음악-색 연합 반응의 정확성과 인식 정도에 유의한 차이가 나타났으며 특히 행복이 가장 높은 정확도를 보였다. 채도는 선명함과 흐릿함의 속성에 따라 인식 정도에서만 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 슬픔에서 상대적으로 높은 반응 정확성과 선명함을 보였다. 결론: 시각장애인 대상 정서 기반 음악-색 연합 반응을 색의 속성에 따라 살펴봄으로써 향후 이들을 위한 효과적인 색채 학습 전략을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the music-color association responses based on emotion according to the three attributes of color, hue, brightness, and saturation by people with visual impairments. Method: The participants of this study were 20 visually impaired adults aged from 20 to 40 living in S city, and the music-color association responses to 12 music excerpts, validity of which had been verified, were measured by a self-report method with four items of basic emotion type, hue, brightness, and saturation. Results: In the music-color association responses based on emotion according to color, there were shown in order, black was the highest in anger and fear, followed by red in anger, green in happiness, and gray in sadness. In terms of brightness, there was a significant difference in the accuracy and recognition of music-color association responses according to the attributes of brightness and darkness, and happiness showed the highest accuracy. With regards to saturation, there was found a significant difference only in recognition according to the attributes of vividness and blur, and relatively higher accuracy and vividness were observed in sadness. Conclusion: Through the examination of music-color association responses based on emotion by people with visual impairments according to attributes of color, it is meaningful that this study proposed an effective color learning strategy for them in the future.
