온라인-오프라인 공간을 매개로 한 성인 독서의 실천적 진화

Practical evolution of adult reading through online-offline space

이 연구는 성인의 독서 실천이 어떻게 변화, 발전하고 있는지를 살펴보기 위해 구체적인 실천 사례를 분석함으로써 앞으로의 성인 독서 교육 및 독서 운동의 방향성을 모색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 자발적인 성인 독서 모임의 사례를 참여 관찰하였으며 효과적인 자료 수집을 위한 연구 방법으로 인터넷 에스노그라피를 활용하였다. 이는 해당 모임이 온라인과 오프라인을 병행하여 운영되고 있기 때문이다. 연구자는 이 모임의 구성원이자 관찰자로서 참여하여 자료를 수합하였다. 이렇게 수집된 자료를 분석하여 독서가 현대 성인들에게 문화 향유의 장르로, 함께 정보를 공유하기 위한 대상이자 매개로, 집단 지성 네트워크를 구축하는 수단으로 활용되고 있음을 발견하였다. 이를 통해 지금까지 아동과 청소년을 중심으로 이루어졌던 독서 교육이 향후 다양한 방식으로 변화해야 한다는 시사점을 도출하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of adult reading education and future reading movement by analyzing specific practical cases to gauge how adult reading practice is evolving. Accordingly, we participated in voluntary adult reading sessions and observed them as a way of effective data collection. This method was used because the reading groups operated both online and offline. The researchers collected the data by participating as both members and observers of the group. An analysis of the collected data found that reading is used as a cultural entertainment genre for modern adults, as a medium for sharing information, and as a means of establishing a collective intelligence network. The study suggests that reading education, which has so far focused on children and teenagers, should be altered in various ways in the future.
