대학생의 내현적인 자기애성향과 자살생각의 관계: 좌절된 대인관계욕구와 인지적인 몰락의 매개효과

The Relation between Covert Narcissism and Suicide Ideation of University Students: The Mediating Effects of Frustrated Interpersonal Needs and Cognitive Deconstruction

본 연구는 대학생들의 내현적인 자기애성향, 좌절된 대인관계욕구, 인지적인 몰락이 자살생각에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 선행연구들을 바탕으로 내현적인 자기애성향과 자살생각의 관계를 좌절된 대인관계욕구와 인지적인 몰락이 순차적으로 매개하는 연구모형을 검증하였다. 전라북도에 살고 있는 대학생 380명을 대상으로 내현적 자기애성향 척도, 대인관계욕구 척도, 자기도피 척도 및 자살생각 척도를 사용하였고, 구조방정식 모형을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 내현적인 자기애성향, 좌절된 대인관계욕구, 인지적인 몰락 및 자살생각은 정적상관을 보였다. 또한 연구모형이 자료에 더 적합한 것으로 나타났으며, 내현적인 자기애성향과 자살생각의 관계에서 좌절된 대인관계욕구와 인지적인 몰락이 부분적으로 이중매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과들은 자살생각을 호소하는 내현적인 자기애성향의 내담자와 상담 장면에서 대인관계욕구와 인지적인 몰락에 대한 개입 가능성을 상기시킴으로써, 효과적인 상담 및 치료 개입 방향에 대하여 의미 있는 정보를 제공하였다는 것에 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among covert narcissism, frustrated interpersonal needs, cognitive deconstruction, and suicidal ideation. Based on previous studies, the initial research model was set up with frustrated interpersonal desire and cognitive deconstruction being mediated sequentially. This study included 380 university students in Jeollabuk-do and instruments such as Covert Narcissism Scale(CNS), Interpersonal Needs Questionnaire Revised(INQ-R), Scale for Escape from the Self(SES), and Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire(SIQ). The initial model was verified through Structural Equation Model(SEM). According to the analysis, the covert narcissism, frustrated interpersonal needs, cognitive deconstruction and suicidal ideation showed a significant positive correlation and the SEM analysis confirmed that the research model was suitable for the data. It also indicated that the relationship between covert narcissism and suicidal thinking was partially and dually mediated by frustrated interpersonal needs and cognitive deconstruction. These results suggest that effective therapeutic interventions for suicidal clients can benefit from interventions focusing on clients’ interpersonal needs and cognitive deconstruction.
