초등학교 교사가 인식하는 비장애학생의 장애학생과의 접촉 경험 및 정서적 거리감 제공이 부정적 태도 변화에 미치는 관계

The Relationship between Elementary School Teachers’ Perceptions of on-disabled Students’ Contact Experience and Emotional Distance on Negative Attitude Changes toward Students with Disabilities

본 연구는 초등학교 교사가 인식하는 비장애학생의 장애학생과의 접촉 경험 및 정서적 거리감 제공이 부정적 태도 변화에 미치는 관계를 알아보기 위하여 조사연구로 수행되었다. 접촉 경험 6문항, 정서적 거리감 6문항, 그리고 부정적 태도 변화 6문항을 개발하였다. 초등학교 교사 336명의 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비장애학생의 장애학생에 대한 접촉 경험은 장애학생에 대한 부정적 태도 변화에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생의 장애학생과의 접촉 경험은 정서적 거리감에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 초등학생의 장애학생에 대한 접촉 경험이 정서적 거리감을 매개할 때, 장애학생에 대한 부정적 태도 변화에 통계적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서는 초등학생의 장애학생에 대한 접촉 경험은 장애학생에 대한 부정적 태도 변화에 긍정적 영향을 제공하기 위한 조건으로 경험의 즐거움과 보람을 느낄 방안이 함께 고려되어야 함을 제안하고 있다.

This study was conducted as a research study to find out the relationship between elementary school teachers’ perception of non-disabled students’ experience of contact with students with disabilities and providing emotional distance on negative attitude changes toward students with disabilities. 6 questions of contact experience, 6 questions of emotional distance, and 6 questions of negative attitude change were developed. The data of 336 elementary school teachers were analyzed. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that non-disabled students’ experiences of contact with students with disabilities did not affect the change in their negative attitude toward students with disabilities. Second, it was found that elementary school students’ experiences of contact with students with disabilities had a positive effect on emotional distance. Third, it was found that when elementary school students’ experiences of contact with students with disabilities mediate emotional distance, they have a statistical effect on changes in their negative attitude toward students with disabilities. In conclusion, this study suggests that the experience of contacting students with disabilities in elementary school students should be considered as a condition to provide a positive effect on the change of negative attitude toward students with disabilities, and a way to feel the joy and reward of experience should be considered together.
