가정실습실 공간 구축과 활용을 통한 진로 연계형 고등학교 선택 과목 운영 사례 연구

A Case Study on the Operation of Career-Related Elective Subject in the High School Establishing and Using the Laboratory Facilities for Home Economics

본 연구는 가정과 교육 활동을 위한 가정실습실 공간 구축 및 활용 사례를 통해 진로 연계형 고등학교 선택 과목 확대를위한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 고등학교 선택 과목 추이와 학교 실험⋅실습실의 교육적 효과에 대한 선행연구의 고찰, 이를가정실습실 구축을 통한 진로 연계형 고등학교 선택 과목 사례를 서울의 일반고교 두 곳을 중심으로 제시하였다. 이를 통해도출한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2020년 현재 고등학교 학생들의 진로 선택 과목 중 가정 교과 관련 과목 개설은 학교마다차이가 있었다. 본 연구의 대상 학교의 경우 실험⋅실습실의 활용도가 높으며, 학생들의 선호가 있으나, 과목 개설에서 입시과목과의 연관성에 대한 안내를 통해 학생들의 선택의 암묵적 유도가 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 일반계 고등학교에서 가정교과 수업 시간 축소, 개설과목 축소는 교사 충원과 연관되며, 이는 궁극적으로 교과의 위기로 이어질 수 있으나 가정 교과와진로 진학을 연계한 활동을 통해 학생들의 가정 교과에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하여, 이는 교과 선택으로 연장되고 있음을 제시하고있다. 이를 통해 다양한 가정 교과 관련 과목의 개설과 홍보가 적극적으로 이루어질 필요가 있을 것으로 사료된다.

This study aimed to suggest measures expand career-related elective subjects in the high schools through a case of establishingand utilizing a learning space for hands-on home economics classroom activities. Upon the trend reviews of elective subjectsin the high school and literature reviews on the educational outcomes from home economics classrooms, a case of career-relatedelective subject by establishment of learning space related to home economics was proposed in two high schools in Seoul. Theresults are as follows: First, the trend in 2020 showed that selecting a home economics course as a career-related subject dependson school situations. The results of the survey at schools show that the utilization rate of hands-on learning space for homeeconomics was high with high preference among students, but schools implicitly guided students to select courses that are relatedto preparation for university entrance. Second, reductions of class hours and decreased likelihood to offer courses in home economicsin general high schools would influence the recruitment of teachers, which may ultimately result in a threat to the subject. However,through career-related activities, students may develop positive perception of the subject of home economics and consequentlyselect the subject. Therefore, it is necessary to open and promote multiple elective courses related to home economics for thesurvival of subject of home economics.
