개인심리이론에 기반한 상담자 발달에 대한 자문화기술연구

An Autoethnography on Counselor Development Based on Individual Psychology Theory

본 연구의 목적은 낮은 사회경제적 지위와 남아선호사상이 투철한 장손가정의 넷째 딸로 성장한 한 상담자의 우월성 추구를 위한 삶의 경험 회상과 성찰을 통해 상담자 발달을 이루어 나가는 과정을 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구목적 달성을 위해 Adler의 개인심리이론을 적용하여 자문화기술지의 연구방법을 활용하여 분석하였으며 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구자가 남아선호사상이 깊고 낮은 경제적 지위에 속한 가족구도와 네 딸 중 막내딸로 성장하면서 열등감과 심리적 상처를 가지고 있었지만 가려진 존재감을 드러내고 인생과제 해결을 위한 노력을 통해 자아실현을 이루어가고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 연구자는 내담자 경험, 자기분석, 집단상담 참여 경험 등의 수련 및 상담자 경험을 통해 사회적 유용형의 생활양식을 증진시키며 상담가로 성장할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통하여 열악한 환경에서 성장한 한 개인이 상담자로 성장 발달하기 위해 노력한 가족 및 사회문화적 배경에 대한 깊은 이해와 통찰을 통해 자아실현을 이루어나가는 생생한 정보를 제공하고 나아가 이 연구가 낮은 사회경제적 지위와 긍정적이지 못한 성장환경 속에서 우월성을 추구하고자 하는 사람들을 이해하는데 기여하기를 기대한다.

This study aimed to investigate the process for a counselor development via recollection and introspection of life experience in pursuit of superiority for case of a counselor who has grown as the fourth daughter of a family of the eldest grandson by the eldest son dominated by low socioeconomic status and boy preference. To that end, analysis was made using autoethnographic research method under application of Adler’s theory of individual psychology. The result is as follows: First, though our subject had inferiority complex and psychological wound after growing as the fourth and the youngest daughter in the family of low economic status and a deep son preference, it was clear that she made self-realization through efforts to make her presence known and resolve her life task. Second, the subject was able to become a professional counselor increasing a lifestyle of social usefulness through the practice of client experience, self-analysis, experience as a participant in group counseling, and counselor experience. This result of study provides a vivid information about a person who, though born and bred in a poor environment, made self-realization through deep understanding and insight into her family and sociocultural background in order to grow and develop into a counselor. Further, it is expected that this study will contribute to make understand those who want to pursue superiority in their early unfavorable environment of low socioeconomic status.
