대학 교양교육에서 『고경중마방(古鏡重磨方)』을 활용한 인성역량 함양 방안 탐색

Exploring the Methods of Character Education Utilized Toegye’s ‘KoGyeongJungMaBang(古鏡重磨方)’ in the Liberal Arts Education at Universities

이 연구의 목적은 대학의 교양교육에서 퇴계 이황의 『고경중마방(古鏡重磨方)』을 활용한 인성교육 프로그램의 방안을 이론적으로 탐색하는 것이다. 연구의 이론적 기초로서 미래사회의 핵심역량과 대학의 교양교육, 고전교육과 인성교육, 『고경중마방』을 활용한 인성교육의 가능성을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 탐색한 이론에 기초하여 대학의 교양교육에서 활용이 가능한 고전 읽기로서 『고경중마방』을 연계한 인성교육 프로그램을 설계·개발·예시하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학 교양교육과 연계한 인성교육의 이론을 중점적으로 탐색하고, 인성교육 방법으로서 ‘고전 읽기’의 적용 가능성을 제시하였다. 둘째, 대학 교양강좌에서 『고경중마방』을 연계한 인성교육을 위한 수업지도안을 개발·제시하였다. 결론적으로 대학의 교양교육에서 ‘고전 읽기’와 연계한 인성교육 프로그램은 미래사회가 요구하는 핵심역량 개발이나 인성기반 (비)교과 활동 프로그램으로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 후속 연구의 주제는 대학생의 인성역량 함양을 위한 전공과목과 지역문화를 반영한 교양교육 프로그램 개발과 실천, 대학생 인성교육의 효과 측정을 위한 평가 연구를 제안하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학 교양교육과 연계한 인성교육의 이론을 중점적으로 탐색하고, 인성교육 방법으로서 ‘고전 읽기’의 적용 가능성을 제시하였다. 둘째, 대학 교양강좌에서 『고경중마방(古鏡重磨方)』을 연계한 인성교육을 위한 수업지도안을 개발·제시하였다. 결론적으로 대학의 교양교육에서 ‘고전 읽기’와 연계한 인성교육 프로그램은 미래사회가 요구하는 핵심역량 개발이나 인성기반 (비)교과 활동 프로그램으로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 후속 연구의 주제는 대학생의 인성역량 함양을 위한 전공과목과 지역문화를 반영한 교양교육 프로그램을 개발하여 실천하는 연구와 대학생 인성교육의 효과 측정을 위한 평가 연구를 제안하였다.

The purpose of the study was to theoretically explore the methods of character education program utilized Toegye’s ‘KoGyeongJungmabang(古鏡重磨方)’. As a theoretical basis of the study, we reviewed the literatures focused on (1) the core competencies of future society and liberal arts education at universities, (2) classic education and character education, and (3) the possibility of utilizing a character education program linked with a classic reading in liberal arts education at universities. Based on the theories explored, we designed, developed, and exemplified a character education program linked with ‘KoGyeongJungMaBang(古鏡重磨方)’ as classic reading for liberal arts education. The summary of the study is as follows: Firstly, we explored the theory of character education in connection with liberal arts education at universities, and suggested the possibility of applying classic reading as a method of character education. Secondly, we developed and presented lesson plans and teaching-learning media for character education linked with a liberal arts education at universities. In conclusion, the character education program linked with classic reading can be used as a core competency development for future society demands and/or character-based (non) curricular activity program. As follow-up studies, we suggest: (1) studies to develop and practice a liberal arts education program linked with major subjects/local culture, and (2) evaluation studies for measuring the effectiveness of character education for college students.
