미술교육에서 창의성에 관한 담론 고찰

An Investigation on diverse discourses of the Creativity in Art Education

미래 사회에서 요구되는 창의성에 대한 사회적 관심과 요구가 높아지면서 우리가 신장시켜야 할 창의성이 무엇이며 창의성 교육에서 고려해야 할 것은 무엇인지 등에 대한 창의성 교육이 핵심 과제로 떠오르고 있다. 본 연구는 창의성의 여러 이론에 근거하여 미술교육에서의 창의성 담론을 다양하게 탐색하고 특정 전통 내에서 창의성의 개념을 명확하게 논의해 봄으로써, 앞으로 미술교육에서의 창의성 교육의 방향을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 예술에서 창의성에 대한 신화를 살펴보고, 역사적 맥락에서 창의성을 접근해 봄으로써, 창의성의 담론이 어떻게 형성되어 왔는지를 탐색하였다. 미술교육에서 창의성은 첫째, 자유로운 자아표현 중심 미술교육에서 자유로운 표현과 연결 지으며 심리적 측면에서 창의성을 논의하였다. 이후 이루어진 창의성에 대한 과학적 연구는 미술교육에서 사고력/문제해결력으로서 창의성을 접근하는데 기초를 제공하였다. 셋째, 최근의 창의성 연구 동향이라 할 수 있는 창의성에 대한 사회 맥락적 접근을 제시하였다. 이러한 담론들을 논의하면서, 각각의 쟁점을 함께 제시함으로써, 창의성 연구가 어떠한 방향으로 나아가야 할지에 대한 시사점을 찾아보았다.

This study investigated the diverse discourses of the creativity in art education based on the literature review. I discussed about some myth of the creativity in arts and historically, reviewed major theories of the creativity in education and art education. The findings of this study are as following. First, the creativity has been discussed with the creative self expression in art education in terms of psychological aspects. Second, based on the scientific research on the creativity in psychology, it has been discussed with the thinking/ problem solving ability in art education. Third, recently the social contextual approach of the creativity has been discussed in art education. While discussing these discourses, I provided the issues of the creativity in each area and talked about some suggestions.
