전통그림 읽기를 통한 감상지도 모색

Art Appreciation Education Through Korean Traditional Paintings

전통 그림에서는 현실에서 존재하는 자연물일지라도 그림 속의 자연은 본래의 자연물이 아니라 그리는 이의 사상과 정서를 매개하는 상징물인 것이다. 우리는 이 상징성을 읽고 해석을 통해서 조상들의 문화를 이해할 수 있다. 전통그림을 읽기 지도를 위한 방법에는 사회·문화적 배경을 중심으로 읽기, 우의를 중심으로 읽기, 동음이자의 원리로 읽기, 고전적 명구 관련하여 읽기, 일화와 관련하여 읽기 등이 있다. 학생들이 서양의 그림이나 미술문화에 더 익숙하고 우리 전통그림이나 미술문화에 대해서 더 모르는 것이 현실이다. 따라서 전통 미술문화에 대한 막연한 자부심만 가질 것을 강조할 것이 아니라 전통그림에 대한 바른 읽기를 통해서, 우리미술문화의 독창성과 우수성을 이해하도록 해야 한다. 또 조상들의 생활과 문화를 이해하고 오늘날 우리의 삶과 어떤 관련성이 있는 지를 찾을 수 있도록 지도되어야 한다. 전통그림 읽기를 통해서 학생들에게 읽는 방법을 이해시키는데 있는 것이 아니라 전통그림의 읽는 방법을 소개하고 관심을 갖게 하는 데 있다.

Although paintings are painted under the name of Korean paintings, it s difficult to find the Samjeol ideology, which is usually reflected in traditional paintings, and the spirit to present symbolism with nature in them. Today s reality is that the materials of traditional paintings are used to paint from the Western perspectives. It s time to search for the ways to shed new light onto traditional art, bring life to it, and accept and recreate it as cultures of no nationality are created. In traditional paintings, natural objects, which are present in reality, are not depicted exactly as they are but represent the painter s thoughts and emotions as symbols. By reading and interpreting such symbolism, we can understand the culture of our ancestors. There are several ways to instruct the students about how to read traditional paintings, and they include reading based on the social and cultural backgrounds of the paintings, reading based on allegories, reading in the principle of homonyms, reading in relation with famous lines from classical works, and reading in relation with anecdotes. Being accustomed to the Western culture and unfamiliar with the traditional one, the young generations should learn to read traditional paintings so that they can understand, inherit, and develop the originality and excellence of our art culture and use it as the foundation for creating a new culture.
