미술교육에서 문화유산 교육에 대한 논의

Discussion regarding education of cultural heritage in Arts education

본고에서는 현재 논의 되고 있는 문화교육의 필요성과 목표를 기초로 미술교육 관점에서 어떻게 문화유산 관련 교육 내용을 구성하고 가르칠 것인가에 대한 논의를 하였다. 문화유산에 대한 교육의 필요성과 문화유산 교육의 목적과 내용을 기초로 새롭고 자극적인 문화에 익숙해 있는 학생들에게 문화유산에 대한 교육이 지루한 옛날 유물에 대한 교육으로 인식되지 않도록 하기위해 문화적 리터러시(literacy)를 교육한다는 관점에서 학습 전략을 제시하였다. 본고에서 제시된 ‘문화유산 계승 학습 전략’은 학생들이 문화유산의 의미와 가치를 이해하고 전통적인 미술 재료와 표현 방법을 익혀 현대적인 작품으로 재창조 하도록 하며, ‘문화유산 교류 학습 전략’은 학습자가 중심이 되어 다양한 문화의 관계성을 탐색하고 발견하도록 하고 학습자 자신의 일상문화와 관계지어보도록 하는 과정을 통해 새로운 문화를 창조할 수 있는 능력을 갖도록 하는 것이다.

This paper is discussed cultural heritage with regards to education necessity, purpose and contents of education and learning strategy so on. Education regarding the cultural heritage has to be accessed by students’ point of view that students as a main character have to plan and to manage their own life. Moreover, students should establish their own identity and be given education to enjoy and to produce culture as raising a critical and creativity power. Contents of education regarding cultural heritage in a current curriculum of arts should be centrally composed with cultural heritage directly related to the arts as a priority matter. For natural heritage, superior natural landscape is included in education contents to experience the beauty of nature and pictures, calligraphy and woodblock as archives heritage and handicrafts, sculpture, architecture and garden as intangible heritage are on the contents of cultural education in the arts curriculum. Learning strategy should be established in a cultural literacy point of view in order not to be recognized that education for cultural heritage is not a bored and old relic for student who are used to live in new and sensational culture. ‘Succeeding learning strategy for cultural heritage’ suggested in this paper that it gives understanding of meaning and value of cultural heritage to students and students have to recreate works to modern ones as learning the traditional arts material and expression was. A learning strategy for cultural heritage exchange should be proceeded mainly focused on the learners to explore and discover various relationship of culture and should raise leaner’s abilities to create new culture through the course which provides an opportunity to makes a relationship with learners’ daily culture.
