미술교육의 간학문적 연구에 관한 이론적 고찰

Interdisciplinary Art Education

본고는 미술교육에 있어서 간학문적 연구(interdisciplinary study)의 필요성과 인접 학문을 도입한 미술교육의 형태에 관하여 논하였다. 세계화, 포스트모더니즘, 시각문화로 이어지는 일련의 사회, 문화적 현상과 관련지어 간학문적 연구의 중요성과 미술과 교육과정에서의 실현을 위한 개념 정의와 방법에 대하여 알아보았다. 각 학문 영역에서 분리된 지식을 강조하는 DBAE의 문제점을 논하였다. 다음으로는 인류학, 사회학, 페미니즘을 도입하여 미술교육의 간학문적 연구에 대하여 설명하였다. 대중문화와 현대미술을 포함하는 시각문화로서의 미술교육의 견지에서 간학문적 연구는 시각적 상징으로서의 문화, 사회 현상의 연결, 나아가 현대 사회의 문제 의식과 이미지와 문화현상에 관한 비평적 관점을 기를 수 있다.

There are growing needs for interdisciplinary studies on art education. With the globalization, postmodernism, visual culture study, and other educational initiatives, the notion of interdisciplinary education is motivating art educators to reconsider current educational practice. This article examines the concepts and ways of interdisciplinary art education toward pedagogical practices. Then the author discussed the problems of teacher-oriented practice including Feldman s model and DBAE(Discipline Based Art Education). This study provides the framework for interdisciplinary study on art education with the perspectives of anthropology, sociology, and feminism. This article explores the expanding realms of visual culture in the field of art education with the notion of visual symbol in everyday lives. It is significant for students to have critical thinking within integrated art education curriculum.
