초등학교 미술교육에서의 한국화 교육은 전통적인 재료와 도구를 사용하는 것만 지도하는 것이 아니라 어린이들이 사물을 보는 태도와 시각을 한국적인 사고로 보아야 하며 그런 또 다른 시각의 감정을 표현하게 하는 것이 더 중요하다. 한국화의 재료와 용구의 사용법, 기초적인 표현 방법에 대한 지도가 부족한 초등학교에서 한국화 기초기능 요소의 과정 지도는 한국화에 대한 이해와 친근감을 갖게 하고, 아동들이 저항감없이 표현 활동에 임할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 첫째, 한국화의 주재료인 화선지, 먹, 붓 등의 사용을 자유롭고 효과적으로 즐기게 하기 위해 한국화의 기초기능요소를 선정하고, 다양한 재료와 한국화기법을 접목시켜 흥미를 유발시키는 방법 등을 제시하였다. 둘째, 쉽고 재미있는 한국화 지도를 위한 과정의 교수·학습 방법을 개발적용하여 어린이들이 다양한 한국화적인 표현을 체험하게 하여 우리 문화의 우수성을 느끼게 하고 창의적인 표현 능력을 신장시키고자 하였다.
As for Korean paintings education in fine arts education, it is not very desirable for teachers to teach only how to use traditional materials and tools for Korean paintings. It is more important to teach children how to view and cope with things from the Korean perspective and express their feelings. At elementary school where education about how to use materials and tools for Korean paintings, and basic expression method is not sufficiently offered, the phased teaching of the basic functional components for Korean paintings can make children understand and feel intimate with Korean paintings, and express their feelings without feeling the sense of resistance. Upon the review on the recent theses about Korean paintings education, the importance of understanding children’s ability and level, and studying and developing plans for elongating children’s expression faculty for Korean paintings intended in a curriculum through data about phased Korean paintings education is proposed. Also, it was found from interviews with teachers at elementary school that it needed to prepare teaching plans for having children easily understand Korean paintings and leading the interesting fine arts class. Accordingly, this study is aimed to appoint the basic functional components for Korean paintings so that children may freely and effectively enjoy the use of Chinese drawing paper, Indian ink, and brush which are the main materials of Korean paintings, in line with elementary schools, to develop phased teaching-learning methods for Korean paintings, which provoke children’s interest by engrafting diverse materials and fun techniques to Korean paintings and apply them to students of all school years, and to propose a new direction for the Korean paintings class at elementary school, which will elongate children’s creative expression faculty for Korean paintings.
