The purpose of this study was to identify the stress and stress response levels experienced by nursing students and to identify factors that affect their resilience. The data were collected from 120 third and fourth year nursing students from 6 universities in cities G, D, Y, and S. The participants completed the structured questionnaires between April 4, 2019 and September 12, 2019. The data were analyzed by frequency, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s Correlation Coefficients, and Multiple Regression using a SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The mean scores of stress, stress response, and resilience were 1.70±0.57, 0.96±0.69, and 4.62±0.86 respectfully. The factors that influence resilience were identified as stress response (β=-0.28, p=0.005), stress (β=-0.21, p=0.025), and interpersonal relationships (β=0.17, p=0.043). There was a 30.7% that explained this variance. This study reports that stress and stress response have negative effects on resilience, while interpersonal relationships have a positive effect. The results from this study may be useful in developing a nursing intervention program for reducing stress and increasing the interpersonal relationships and resilience of nursing students.
