자기 내러티브 글쓰기의 현황 및 개선방안

A Study on the Current State and Improvement Plans of Self-narrative Writing : Focused on University Writing Textbooks and Class

이 연구는 기초(필수) 교양으로서의 대학 글쓰기 교육에서 학생들의 글쓰기 실력 향상뿐 아니라 심리적, 철학적 의미를 찾을 수 있는 내러티브 글쓰기의 필요성과 그 의의를 살피고 수업 현황을 분석하여 개선하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 대학 글쓰기 수업은 신입생을 대상으로 교양 필수 교과로 운용되고 있기에 교양 교과로서의 특징과 위상을 고려하여 수업 내용을 구성할 필요가 있다. 내러티브의 자아 구성과 생성력을 토대로 자기의 내러티브를 만들어 내는 글쓰기는 자신에 대해 성찰하고 내러티브를 생성해 내는 교양인으로, 또한 사회에서 요구하는 의사소통 및 비판적 성찰 능력을 갖춘 인재로서도 필요한 역량이다. 그러나 대학에서의 글쓰기 교재와 강의 계획서를 통해 살펴본 교수-학습은 실용문을 위주로 운용되고 있다. 교재에서는 자기를 성찰, 표현하는 글쓰기를 다루고 있으나 분량이나 비중 면에서 볼 때 소개 차원에 불과하다. 교수-학습에서도 자기소개서, 자기 진단적 성격으로 활용하는 데 그쳐 학생이 자기에 대해 성찰하고 점검할 수 있는 글쓰기가 절대적으로 부족하다. ‘자기 내러티브 글쓰기’는 성찰과 계획까지를 범위로 하되 과정을 중심으로, 추후의 자기소개서 작성과 연계하여 교육할 필요가 있으며, 교재에서도 독립적인 글쓰기 유형으로 구체적인 활동이 제시되어야 한다. 또한 교수자의 피드백과 비밀유지 등의 태도가 전제되어야 한다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the necessity and significance of narrative writing that can find psychological and philosophical meanings as well as improving students writing skills in university writing education as a basic liberal arts education, and to analyze and improve the class status. Since university writing classes are being operated as mandatory courses for freshmen, it is necessary to organize class contents in consideration of the characteristics and status of liberal arts subjects. Writing that creates one s own narrative based on the self-organization and generating power of the narrative is a necessary competency as a person with communication and critical reflection skills. Self-narrative writing should cover reflection and planning, but it is necessary to provide education in connection with the writing of a self-introduction letter, focusing on the process. The textbook should also be presented as a type and specific activities.
