내러티브 논문작성의 실제

Practice on Narrative Thesis Writing

본고는 Clandinin과 Connelly가 발전시켜 질적연구방법으로 정착시킨 ‘내러티브 탐구(Narrative Inquiry)’에 대한 필자의 이론적 이해와 실제적 경험을 바탕으로 ‘내러티브 논문을 어떻게 쓸 것인가’의 관점에서 내러티브 탐구자에게 논문 작성 가이드를 제공하기 위해 작성된 기고문이다. 내러티브 탐구의 본질적 목적인 ‘개별 인간 경험의 이해’는 탐구의 처음부터 끝까지 연구자가 명심해야 하는 요소임을 강조하였고, 내러티브 논문을 구성하는 각 항목 별로 작성을 어떻게 해야 하는지에 대한 이론적 지원과 더불어 빈번히 발생하는 항목별 글쓰기 오류와 작성 시 주의 사항 등을 제시하였다. 본고가 인간 이해에 관심을 가지고 내러티브 탐구를 시작하는 연구자들에게 힘과 도움이 되기를 기원하며, 성숙한 내러티브 탐구자로 거듭나서 좋은 내러티브 논문의 생산으로 이어지길 기대한다.

This article, as an academic contribution, was written to provide ‘a guide for how to write a narrative thesis’ to narrative inquirers from my experiences of theoretical and practical understanding about Narrative Inquiry, which was developed and founded by Clandinin and Connelly. It was highlighted that each narrative inquirer should keep in mind the essential goal of narrative inquiry, ‘understanding experiences of individuals’, during whole process of research. It was mainly suggested guides for how to write each chapters with theoretical support, frequently occurred errors, and matters that require attention. I hope that this article could be a positive support and help for narrative inquirers who have concerns for understanding human beings, so that they could produce good narrative theses as mature narrative inquirers.
