대학생들의 교양교육 만족도 및 인식

Satisfaction and Recognition of Liberal Arts Education for College Students

본 연구는 교양수업 전반에 대한 만족도와 인식을 대학생 380명을 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 살펴보았다. 교양 수업에 대한 전반적인 만족도는 교수진의 전문성, 강좌 수, 일반적인 만족, 교양필수 이수학점, 교양선택 최소 이수학점 순으로 나타났다. 반면에, 교양 필수과목, 강의실의 제반 환경, 개설 교양과목의 다양성에서는 낮은 만족도를 나타냈다. 교양수업 수강하는 이유는 ‘학점 이수(졸업학점에 필요)를 위해서’, ‘수업 시간이 맞아서’ 순으로 나타났다. 교양수업 수강하는 동기는 ‘다양한 학문적 지식을 넓힐 수 있어서’, ‘본인의 역량 개발에 도움이 되므로’ 순으로 나타났다. 교양과목의 반별 수강 적정 인원수는 ‘21-40명’, ‘41-60’ 순으로 나타났다. 강의실 개선이 필요한 부분은 ‘책걸상’, ‘멀티미디어 시설’ 순으로 나타났다. 교양 필수과목의 중요성은 실용영어, RWP, 중국어순으로 나타났다. 교양과목 제한 이수학점은 ‘31-50학점’, ‘51-70학점’ 순으로 나타났다. 교양 수업에서 가장 선호하는 평가방법은 ‘단답형’, ‘O/X형, 선다형’이었다. 융·복합 교양교육에 대한 인지는 66.3%로 나타났다. 본 연구의 함의는 대학 교양교육에서 교육수혜자인 대학생의 교양교육 만족도와 인식을 조사한 결과를 바탕으로 교양교육의 전문성을 강화하는 교양교육 개선의 반영에 있다.

This study examined the satisfaction and recognition of general liberal arts classes through a survey of 380 college students. Overall satisfaction with liberal arts classes was in the order of faculty expertise, number of courses, general satisfaction, required credits, and minimum electives. On the other hand, the satisfaction level was low in the required courses of general education, the general environment of the classroom, and the variety of open courses. The reason for taking liberal arts classes was to complete credits (needed for graduation credits) and because class time is right . The motivation for taking a liberal arts class was because I can broaden my various academic knowledge and because it helps me to develop my competencies . The proper number of students in each class was 21-40, followed by 41-60. The areas requiring improvement in the classroom were desktop and multimedia facilities in that order. The importance of liberal arts was in the order of Practical English, RWP, and Chinese. Restricted credits for liberal arts were 31 -50 credits and 51 -70 credits . The most preferred methods of evaluation in liberal arts classes were short answer , O / X, and multiple choice . Awareness of convergence and hybrid liberal arts education was found to be 66.3%. The implication of this study is to reflect the improvement of liberal arts education that strengthens the specialization of liberal arts education based on the results of the survey on the satisfaction and recognition of the liberal arts education students.
