A Comparative Analysis on the Research Trends between Korean and the Other Countries Researches Related to Career Plateau

이 연구는 국내와 국외의 경력정체 관련 연구들을 비교․분석함으로써 연구동향을 살펴보고, 이에 따라 경력정체 관련 연구를 위한 시사점을 얻는데 있었다. 이 연구에서는 경력정체 관련 연구들을 체계적이고 종합적으로 분석하고자 내용분석법을 활용하였으며, 구체적인 단계는 내용분석법의 절차에 따라 구성하였다. 연구 결과에 따라 얻게 된 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상에 있어서 국내에서는 국외와 비교할 때 다양한 산업군의 종사자를 대상으로 연구가 이루어지고 있었다. 둘째, 양적 연구방법, 특히 조사연구방법이 경력정체 관련 연구의 대다수를 차지하고 있었다. 셋째, 국내의 경력정체 관련 연구의 대부분은 특정 측정도구를 활용하는 경향이 높았다. 넷째, 경력정체에 대한 선행변인을 고찰하는 연구가 경력정체가 영향을 미치는 결과변인을 고찰한 연구에 비해 매우 적었다. 다섯째, 경력정체가 영향을 미치는 변인을 고찰한 연구의 경우 특정 변인에 집중된 경향이 있었다. 여섯째, 경력정체의 부정적인 결과 외에 긍정적인 결과에도 관심을 기울일 필요가 있다. 이와 같은 결론을 토대로 연구 동향을 살펴보기 위해 내용분석법을 적용하는데 있어 단어의 수를 체크하는 방법과 연구자의 주관적인 판단에 따른 방법을 병행할 필요성과 하위 영역차원에서 적용되는 동향 연구의 방법의 모색을 후속 연구로 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the research trends by analyzing Korean and the other countries researches related to career plateau, and deduct suggestions for further researches. In this study, content analysis was used to analyze researches related to career plateau systematically and comprehensively. The concrete steps were composed according to procedure of content analysis. The findings of this study revealed the followings: 1) In the research object, the Korean researches has been conducted for the employees working in the more various industries compared with the other countries researches. 2) The quantitative research methods, especially survey research methods hold a vast majority in researches related to career plateau. 3) Most of the Korean researches tend to utilize a particular measurement. 4) The researches investigating antecedents of career plateau were quite less than the researches investigating consequences of career plateau. 5) In the case of researches to investigate consequences of career plateau, there were a tendency to focus on particular variables. 6) It is necessary to pay attention to positive results as well as negative results of career plateau. There are some limitations in interpreting the findings of this study. First, to investigate trends of research, applying for content analysis should be manage both method to check the number of words and method for the subjective judgment of the researcher. Second, it is necessary to seek method of trend research in order to apply for sub-theme level.
