중등학교 교과서의 농업․농촌 기능 분석 및 반영 방안

An Analysis of Functions of Agriculture & Rural Areas and Strategies to Incorporate their Functions in Secondary School Textbooks

이 연구는 중등학교 교과서에 반영된 농업․농촌의 기능과 관련된 내용을 분석하여 향후 교과서에 이를 적절히 반영할 수 있는 방안을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있었으며, 이를 위해 교과서 내용분석 준거 및 틀, 방법을 설정하고, 7학년부터 10학년까지의 교과 중 농업․농촌의 기능이 주로 반영될 수 있는 국어, 도덕, 사회, 과학, 기술․가정의 5개 교과를 학년별로 내용분석하고, 이를 기초로 문헌연구 및 전문가 협의회를 통해 교과별 농업․농촌의 기능 반영 방안을 제시하였다. 중등학교의 주요 교과서를 내용분석한 결과, 전반적으로 농업․농촌의 기능으로 설정한 11개 영역이 모두 포함된 것으로 파악되었는데, 주로 정서 순화 기능, 전통문화 보전기능, 생태계 보전기능, 자연 학습의 장 기능, 농산물 공급기능 등이 많이 제시되어 있었고, 이 외에도 환경 정화 기능, 직업기회 제공 등이 일부 제시되었으나, 자연재해 기능, 국토 균형발전의 기능 등은 극히 적은 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 교과별 농업․농촌의 기능 반영 방안 수립을 위한 기본 방향은 다음과 같이 설정되었다. 첫째, 모든 기능이 교과내용에 균형적으로 반영되도록 한다. 둘째, 교과별 특성에 따라 다양한 내용 반영 방식을 적용한다. 셋째, 교과별 특성에 따라 중점적으로 반영해야 할 기능을 제시한다. 이러한 기본방향에 기초하여 교과별 관련 주요 농업․농촌의 기능(안)을 제시하였으며, 교과별 반영 방안을 강구하였다.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the functions of agriculture & rural areas and suggest the strategies for incorporating them as a part of secondary school textbooks. For this purpose, we conducted content analysis and literature review and held expert conferences and solicited experts opinions. We developed a framework, criteria, and process to analyze textbooks of five subjects: Korean, civics, social studies, science and technology & home economics. The results of this study are as follows: First, the functions of agriculture & rural areas as places for learning about nature and purifying emotion and the importance of agriculture in providing agricultural product were frequently presented but the functions of sustaining water resources and environmental purification and preventing natural disasters were relatively less presented in secondary school textbooks. Second, we established the basic direction for incorporating strategies : ① All of the functions of agriculture & rural areas should be proportionally incorporated in secondary school textbooks. ② The uniqueness and characteristics of each subject should be considered in choosing incorporating strategies. Third, functions of agriculture and rural areas more appropriate for each subject were suggested.
