농어촌청소년의 정보소외 문제에 대한 탐색적 연구

An Exploratory Study on the Digital Alienation of Rural Youth

The purpose of this study was conducted to analysis the digital alienation of rural youth such as digital divide(information access and usage), social alienation(anomy, social relationship, cyber addiction, internet victim) and social-psychological alienation(powerlessness, normlessness, social isolation, self-estrangement). The data were collected through questionnaires from 2,365 rural youth sampled by the proportional cluster sampling method in Korea. The statistical techniques used for this study were t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: (1) The level of gap between rural youth and urban youth showed decreasing trend in the digital access opportunity. (2) The rural youth s digital usability was lower than urban youth and suburban youth, and assumed to be alienated in that area. (3) The regional variable of social alienation didn t have difference significantly, but rural youth experienced more in negative internet usage and cyber addiction. (4) The social-psychological alienation in normlessness and family level showed difference significantly among rural, suburban and urban. (5) With multiple regression analysis, the degrees of explanation of independent variables(parent control, parent support, teacher concern and peer relationship) to anomy, internet addiction and social relationship alienation were about 5.1%. 9.5%, 9.8% respectively. 6) In the case of social-psychological alienation, the degree of explanation of the same independent variables was about 13.5% and the most important variable was peer relationship.
