The purpose of this study were to investigate the current status of career education in 7th practical arts curriculum, and to suggest its directions. Literature review and content analysis were used in this study. The major findings in this study were as follows: (1) to activate career education, career education factors in each area or section of practical arts should be found and clarified; (2) career education in practical arts education should include self-understanding, understanding of occupational & educational exploration, positive attitude toward work, and career planning; (3) understanding of family and work area that is directly related to career education in practical arts should select learning experience aiming at elevating students career development focused on the fifth and sixth grades; (4) occupational information related to components of practical arts course should be processed and presented in accordance with children s career development level; 5) Teaching-learning methods and teaching media that are effectively serve career information and career exploration activities related to components of practical arts course should be developed.
