This study examined the current status of educational programs for employment in universities and suggested a way to improve them. A survey had been conducted to find out students responses, needs and opinions on educational programs for employment provided by their universities. Considering the facts that e-learning might be well suited to the conditions of educational programs for employment and that it might be a solution to improve the programs, an e-learning course has been developed. The course includes 16 modules covering fundamental knowledge and skills for employment based on the students needs. A pilot-test on the e-learning course has been conducted, in which 50 undergraduate students have been participated. After they have taken the course, they have been participated in another survey to examine their responses to the course. The results show that the students were relatively satisfied with the course. They made a suggestion that e-learning courses for employment as regular credit ones would reduce the number of those who could not participate in the programs because of the other course schedules and short notice of the program. It would also make them more involved in the program. Finally, it was expected that the courses would contribute to enhance their computer skills and self-direction which had been regarded as core competencies for employment.
