The View on Agriculture of the Students in the Self management Agricultural High Schools for Future Farmers

There are 11 self management agricultural high schools in Korea established for future farmers. It is important to let the students in these schools have positive and firm view on agriculture. The aim of this study was to analyze the current attitudes and views of the students toward agriculture. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: The students were relatively positive about the agricultural features such as modernized farming, technology, information system, professional knowledge on agriculture. On the prospects of agriculture, the students were more positive about successful farming than about political and agricultural development. More students were negative in getting jobs related to agriculture after their graduation. Though the students had low expectations in the improvement of rural communities and rural life, they showed high interests in agricultural marketing and environmental agriculture.
