Today with the advances of the economy and society achieved by industrialization, there are many changes in various sectors which systemize our lifestyles. Keeping pace with these trends, agriculture is also becoming complicated by the up-to-date agricultural technologies. And we should focus on the international competitiveness and respond sensitively to the tendency of world market. Therefore, in response to the changes of the recognition and attitude toward agriculture, agricultural education also should be developed and adapted to the circumstances. It needs to search a new paradigm to contribute to the continued development of agriculture. In this study, we tried briefly to find out what the right direction is for our agricultural education to on the change and its prospect of the korean agriculture, the SWOT analysis of the korean agriculture and rural community, the current conditions and controversial points of agricultural education in korea. As a result of our study, the agricultural education in school and the social education in country should be vertically connected on the base of the new agricultural education paradigm reflecting the properties of Knowledge-based Society. And also the agricultural education in liberal arts and that in occupation should be developed with the image of being connected horizontally.
