초등학교 실과 생명과학 영역의 내용 적합성과 개선방안

Content Assessment of Life Sciences Sector of Practical Arts Text & Approaches for Systemization

The purpose of this study was to intimate ideas for systemization of life sciences sector of practical arts text. For the purpose, literature reviews of national practical arts curriculum, text, and teaching guide books for teacher and survey of elementary school teachers were carried out. The instrument for survey consisted of text evaluation items including completion to practical arts subject objectives, intimacy to student, intimacy to teacher, relevancy to real life, relation with other subject matter, facility to instruct; and need analysis items including difficulties for instruction and recommendations for content supplementation. Eighty seven elementary school teachers from Daegu were investigated. As result of literature reviews and survey, followings were found: content for understanding of macroscopic life sciences and teaching methods for that were needed; interrelationship among life sciences texts including growing flower, growing vegetable, growing tree, decorating interior, fostering pet and economic animal was low; intimacy to teacher and student was not appropriate. Some systemizing ideas for life sciences contents were drawn from this study: ① general education contents for fundamental systemic understanding of life sciences should be supplemented, ② various selected practices with high facility should be extended, ③ practical arts contents should be reorganized according to child real life subjects. Additionally, some supporting strategies for the systemization were suggested.
