체험농업관광 교육의 현황과 개선 방안

Current Situations and Measures of the Education for Experiential Agricultural Tourism

The objectives of the study are to establish a theoretical model to link education to experiential agricultural tourism, to identify some characteristics and problems of current education related with the tourism development, and to suggest remedial measures for activating the education for the tourism. Theoretical model adopted in this study included such variables as situation, education, consumers needs, tourism managers management ability, development of experiential agricultural tourism. For analyzing education related to the tourism, formal and nonformal education for consumers, managers and related agents were considered. In relation to formal education, it was suggested to emphasize experiential learning in practical aspects for elementary school students. For middle and high school students, agricultural management aspects were emphasized with agricultural experiential tourism. For consumers, there is no enough service to offer confidential information for rural tourism including experiential agricultural tourism. In relation to this, there may need to reinforce government s functions to evaluate and inform the quality of tourism services. Moreover, the contents of agriculture education for elementary school students will have to be given more emphasis on domestic horticulture, wild flowers, wild plants, insects, and fish. For managers, there is no professional education program for rural tourism management. In order to solve this problem, it will be desirable for government and related agencies to offer various education courses for existing and future managers. For assisting the consumers and managers effectively, job education related to rural tourism must be expanded to government and semi-government agents.
