Strategies for the Female Manpower Development in Rural Korea

The objectives of the study were to analyze the agricultural activities of femal farmers and to find out the strategies for the female manpower development in rural korea. The research methods were literature review and social survey. The date were gathered from 145 female farmers with interview and 160 rural extension workers with mailed questionnaire. The major findings of the study were as follows; ① It is desirable to support for the female farmers to manage the profitable crops which requires less arduous labor such as horticulture. ② Helper system should be introduced to assist the female farmers who are nursing infants. ③ Group activities for the agricultural management information should be encouraged and supported. ④　Agricultural mechanization and improvement of working condition for the female farmers were the important issues to be solved quickly. ⑤ Computer education for the female farmers was the important life-long education program.
