The purposes of this study were to identify the effectiveness of distance horticultural therapy education system for university outreach programs. One 10-minite sample distance horticultural therapy lesson was developed and used as a experimental tool to determine whether it could be effective for university outreach program. Since the main methodology was the experimental design, the survey group was divided into two groups, experimental and control group. The groups consisted of 50 subjects each. Based on the major findings, the following conclusions were made : 1. The experimental group subjects showed positive satisfactory responses toward the functions of distance horticultural therapy education system. 2. There was no statistical significance of the satisfaction toward the functions of the distance horticultural therapy education system developed in the experimental group based on the selected demographic variables(experience of distance education and academic background). 3. There was statistical difference of the effectiveness of distance education system as university outreach between the two group. The experimental group showed higher effectiveness than the control group.
