시각장애인의 의약품 점자표기에 대한 경험과 욕구에 관한 연구

Experiences and Needs of People with Visual Impairments Concerning Braille Markings on Drug Packets

연구목적: 본 연구는 시각장애인들의 의약품 점자표기에 관련한 경험에 대한 질적 연구와 점자표기에 대한 욕구실태를 살펴봄으로써 시각장애인이 의약품 관련하여 점자를 쉽고 편리하게 사용할 수 있는 환경을 조성하고, 정책을 마련하는데 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 연구방법: 6개의 시각장애인단체의 대표자들을 대상으로 한 초점집단면담과 200명의 시각장애인을 대상으로 한 의약품 점자표기에 대한 욕구조사를 실시하였다. 초점집단면담은 근거이론에 따라 자료를 분석하였고, 의약품 점자표기에 대한 욕구조사는 빈도분석과 기술통계를 실행하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: 초점집단 면담 결과, 의약품 점자표기 사용 경험 정도와 의약품 점자표기에 대한 욕구가 도출되었다. 의약품 점자표기에 대한 욕구조사에서 의약품 10종에 대한 점자표기 욕구의 전체 평균은 4.71로, ‘매우 필요하다’에 가깝게 나타났다. 결론: 초점집단면담과 의약품 점자표기에 대한 욕구조사의 연구결과를 바탕으로 의약품 사용성, 안전성, 그리고 정보접근성을 높이기 위해 점자표기 개선을 위한 실천적 방안을 제언하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore experiences and needs of people with visual impairments concerning Braille markings on drug packets, in order to improve the environments and policy of using Braille markings on drug packets. Method: Representatives of the six organizations of people with visual impairments participated in the focus group interview. As well, 200 individuals with visual impairments participated in the needs survey for Braille markings on drug packets. We analyzed the qualitative data based on the ground theory and conducted descriptive analyses with the survey data. Results: According to the results of focus group interview, the following two themes were induced: the degree of experiences on Braille markings on drug packets; needs for Braille markings on drug packets. The needs survey for Braille markings on drug packets resulted in the mean 4.71 of 10 types of drug packets, which is closed to ‘very necessary’ in 5-Likert scale. Conclusion: Based on the study results, practical suggestions on Braille markings on drug packets were discussed, in order to improve the safe use and information accessibility of medicines.
