대학생의 성역할 고정관념이 데이트폭력 허용도에 미치는 영향

Impacts of College Students’ Gender Role Stereotypes on Dating Violence Acceptability: The Mediation Effect of Sexual Assertiveness

본 연구는 대학생의 성역할 고정관념이 데이트폭력 허용도에 미치는 영향에 대해서 살펴보고자 하였다. 또한 그 관계에서 원치 않는 성행동 거부, 성행동 인식, 성욕구 인정·표현을 포함하는 성적자기주장이 매개 역할을 하는지 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대학생 453명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하고 상관관계 분석, 매개효과 검증을 하였다. 분석 결과 성역할 고정관념이 높을수록 데이트폭력 허용도가 높고, 성역할 고정관념이 성적자기주장과 유의한 부적 상관을 보였다. 성역할 고정관념이 데이트폭력 허용도에 영향을 미치는 데 있어 성적자기주장은 부분매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 성적자기주장의 하위 요인 중 원치 않는 성행동 거부, 성행동 인식의 매개효과는 통계적으로 유의했으나, 성욕구 인정·표현은 유의하지 않았다. 연구 결과, 성적자기주장은 데이트폭력을 줄일 수 있는 중재적 역할을 할 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 여성과 남성을 모두 포함하였고, 성적자기주장의 하위 요인에 대한 분석을 시도했다는 것에 의의가 있다. 또한 데이트폭력 예방을 위해 성적자기결정권을 실천할 수 있도록 성적자기주장 프로그램의 필요성을 제시하였다.

This study would investigate the impact of college students’ gender-role stereotypes on their dating violence acceptability. Also, this study would reveal if sexual assertiveness that includes the refusal of unwanted sexual behavior, the understanding of sexual behavior, the recognition and expression of sexual desire plays a mediating role in the relationship. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 453 college students. Correlations were analyzed, and mediation effects were verified. As a result of the analysis, the higher the gender role stereotypes, the higher the dating violence acceptability became, and gender role stereotypes had a significant negative correlation with sexual assertiveness. It was found that sexual assertiveness partially mediated the impact of gender role stereotypes on dating violence acceptability. Of the sub-factors of sexual assertiveness, the mediation effects of the refusal of unwanted sexual behavior and the understanding of sexual behavior were statistically significant while that of the recognition and expression of sexual desire was not significant. This study was concerned with both women and men and has significance that it attempted an analysis of the sub-factors of sexual assertiveness. This study would also present the necessity of a sexual assertiveness program for the prevention of dating violence.
